Just completed week 5 run 2. The last half of the final 8 mins was a real struggle. Worried about completing the 20 mins on run 3

Just take it slow and steady and don't panic. The programme is designed for this next step.

Well done on finishing run 2. I did it yesterday and have the 20 min run tomorrow (bit apprehensive myself!!). We can do this - good luck - just remember slow and steady. I find it helps to think of this forum when I start to struggle and that seems to help me push on 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

I'm a couple of runs in front of you and so have completed the 'dreaded' 20 minute run. Before the run I too was very apprehensive, but whilst doing the run it occurred to me that my body (although complaining a bit) was just getting on with the business of running. The program thus far had conditioned it to be able to do 20 minutes of running. It was only my mind that had a problem with it. It's a brain thing not a leg thing.

Don't worry about it. If you've come this far you can smash it. Just look forward to the buzz and absolute thrill of completing it :)

Nothing to be frightened about, check out IannodaTruffe 's post on negativity and positivity :)

The programme prepares you for each run, and each run builds up your running strength and stamina... and as long as you follow it slowly and steadily you will do this:)

If it feels like a struggle, slow down some more and relax into a gentle pace... you will do it:)

Don't worry. Don't focus on the time. Just run.

Each run is a stretch, but the physical prep has been done and now you need to train your mind to run longer distances. Read some W5R3 posts and see how people feel after completing it.

Form here on it is as much about mental strength as it is physical - but you have got this!

It's fine just listen to some tunes and plod it.

I kept repeating in my head ' it must be a typo'!

If you're on the app might be worth listening through the run before doing it as when my music fades and the commentary comes on I always think yes this is it I'm done when in reality it's just telling me I've done 5 minutes. Bit of a mental downer!

But you can do this!

You've been gradually built up to be able to do w5 r3, it's not really that bad, come back and tell us that when you've done it! Remember only slow and steady wins the run, that is key! and don't let those gremlin's in they are little liars! (I and others have kicked out a fair few pesky gremlins!) You've no pain so push on through them!😊
