Set a fast walking pace on the machine & kept switching to a fast run for the intervals mentioned?

Yep! Treadmills absolutely fine. Just try and set the incline to 1/2% to make it more like outdoor running (wind resistance etc)

Just do your runs however you feel comfortable, you can always move to running outside if you feel like it, but no-one’s going to judge you here however you get there.

Ha I was exactly the same! Around a year ago I was even too scared to run on the treadmill and was just walking very fast!
I eventually worked up the courage to run but I wasn’t doing it regularly enough or properly really.
I started c25k in May, and I started off outdoors. As it got hotter and I started sleeping in more I started doing more on the treadmill but still tried to do at least one run outside for every week (didn’t always happen) and I ended up doing 2 of my week 9 runs outdoors
I personally find it easier to run on a treadmill, but I’ve heard plenty of others saying they hate it and they just can’t find their pace at all. I can run faster on a treadmill than outdoors too. Personally I’m just happy that I can change between both (especially when it’s darker earlier in winter!)
But yeah it doesn’t matter if you do all your runs on the treadmill or not, it’s still running and not sitting on the couch! Just be wary of the fact that if you do go outdoors or switch between the two then it’ll be a different experience!
The worst thing for me about the treadmill is boredom. But I can watch Netflix or amazon prime on my phone so....
Ha, I have to get up off my arse & physically go to the gym to use the treadmill so can’t hang about watching tv or anything, I’ve got to run cos I’m there 🤨

I’m buying myself an Apple Watch this weekend so will be able to keep a track on Strava type app to see how I’m doing 😀
You don’t need the watch to use Strava! It just uses your phone gps 😃
But I also have an Apple Watch ☺️ you can use it on the treadmill too and set up your activity as an ‘indoor run’
And ahaha same, I use the treadmill in the gym too
But it can still get boring just looking at the same poster or same patch of grass out of the window! Or you end up just focusing on the time too much and it drags. Tbf the ones that I use have a virtual connect thing, so I usually just pretend I’m running through a forest!
Although maybe I should just stick an episode of something off Netflix on whilst I’m on the treadmill instead!
Yeah I know, but I don’t like carrying the weight of a phone with me when running.
Plus, if I have my phone on me I’d be more tempted to check all my notifications rather than do any exercise 😆
