Time for a little update?

Hi all, I reckon it's about time I let you all know how I got on at the Race for Life. Did the Pretty Muddy one again, and by gum it was hot! We managed to run to the first really wet obstacle, thinking it would cool us off. It turned out to be about 2k in before we could get really wet, which meant we were just too hot to run for a while after that. So all in all ran the first 2k and probably the last 1k.......but it was just too hot to do more, so even though we had an amazing amount of fun and raised some money for cancer research, I felt a little bit disappointed 😞......I then felt I had to prove to myself that I really did know how to run....a week later, (work has been stupidity busy) I set off, quite early, but still hot. Felt like I started a bit quick, but boy did it feel good! I did end up slowing down a bit, it just got sooooo hot. But, all on all, I got my mojo back😁 and, for a wonder, my legs feel fine!! I'm slowly working my way towards that graduation line, feeling better about it all the time.......who would have thought that I would ever be able to keep up a run for 25 whole minutes!! I wanted to attach the thingummy that shows my last run from this morning.....but I'm a bit of a technodunce....so anyway. It said I did 3.25km in 25mins......not too bad for an old fart I reckon🤣

Here I am running across the finish line......in case you're at all interested in just how muddy it is possible to get in 5k....😂

That’s amazing!! Well done. Also Pretty Muddy is serious effort with the obstacles alone never mind the 5k run and the heat! Sounds like you did really well 🙂

Thank you, it is great fun though, maybe I'm a bit weird, liking all that muddy stuff!🤣

Not at all! I did it a few weeks ago and it was fantastic!

That looks like something out of my worst nightmares! To be able to run any distance at all when faced with all that other stuff is pretty awesome.
