Feeeeeeling good! Done it and I know it’s only the first one but proud as! Only thing that I was abit weird about was when I ran past people lol

Also my shins hurt, is that normal? lol I want too make sure I’m running correctly, last thing I need is an injury 🙈

Well done - you’re off the couch! You'll get all sorts of aches and pains for the first week or so, most of them disappear overnight. Good luck and keep running!

A huge well done to you for getting started! It’s a great feeling isn’t it? Take it slow and steady and trust in the program, it really works 👍💪😊

Well done you!! You’ll soon get used to running past people. I felt the same. I don’t know about the shins, but I definitely had some tough aches and pains for the first week. It’s weird how quickly your body gets used to the exercise though. Take it easy and don’t overstretch yourself, but keep at it! You’ve got this!

Well done... aches get less and less and you progress but are always there to remind you that you are doing a great job.

What everyone else said!

Well done!

Shins might be shoes, or it might be just muscles shouting 'take me back to my couch!' - I had similar from the groin tendons.

If they still hurt after a couple of weeks ask again...

Well done!! My shins still occasionally ache and I’m on to week 7. Yeah I try to run in the middle of nowhere, not sure I’d want people to see me running 😂😂

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

To avoid shin pain reduce the impact. Slow down, avoid heelstriking, keep footfall under your body not out in front, run on grass or treadmill and wear proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done Samantha! Slight pains are ok and will gradually disappear in my experience. Make sure you take your rest days and do your warm up and cool down walks. I recommend you go as slow as you can - you need to build strength in your legs and it's a process. If you ignore the 'others', they'll probably ignore you.
