W9r2 and gave up after 5 mins!! This is the first time I’ve ever given up. I’ve had bad runs before but pushed on but this morning I just couldn’t do it. I turned around and tried again but failed!
I’ll get back out and do it tomorrow with graduation run planned for Thursday🤞🏼

Don’t be too hard on yourself, I find it more motivating to run with someone else as they keep you going. Like you said there’s always tomorrow. Keep running you’ve come so far.
You did not fail... you did exactly the right thing.
Listened to your body and acted on the advice
Well done you!
Running at the moment for many, many of us is very hard... so... when you head out, just relax, take it as slowly and steadily as you like... enjoy the run and head to that podium
PS
I will be the one with you whispering...slow and steady x
Don’t worry. I struggled with week 9 too and it went on for ages because I just seemed to lose my mojo! Up til then I’d followed the weeks pretty much without fail. Week 9 was the hardest and I’d hoped it would be a breeze. (Be prepared for a tiny bit of an anticlimax too. Sorry, but some people report that at the end!! 😬)
What you are doing is truly amazing and you are one of a very special bunch of people. No one can take it away from you. You’ve done it! (Very, very, nearly!) 👍🏼
I’ve got my first park run planned next Saturday after my “planned” graduation run. I’d worked it all out that I’d do the park run the week before my sons wedding as a goal for myself!
I have no wise words of wisdom to add to what everyone else has said but I’m sure next time you will be in a totally different frame of mind and you will ace it!
As you have no doubt noted by now we all have off days, days that do not go as planned. I am a 5 & 10k grad yet only last week I had to stop after only 5 mins as could not get my breath!!! I just walked for about 2 mins then started again.
Week 5 & Week 9 R1 was my nemesis. I breezed through week 8 and thought I would do W9R1 easy but not to be. I felt I had let myself down but come to realise 6 month later and lots of wise words from members that it happens to all of as at any time and is part of becoming runners and I am sure any sport really.
Our bodies are not machines, Mo is not far off but a lot of factors can affect how feel and run on the day. What we eat or drink the day b4, lack of or broken sleep, weather too hot, time of day running, bad day at work etc or just plain old bodies just needs a rest.
Some runs are good runs some just do not work at all. Just read about you doing a park run next week. That is really good just make sure no beer the night b4!! And hydrate plenty the day b4.
I think on the day the atmosphere and occasion gets to you and when everyone starts their run you have got to resist being pulled along with the faster group ,unless of course you are a fast runner anyway(-: This is a big mistake of 1st park runs and you end up knackered b4 the end.
Hiya! Don’t feel bad, my W9R2 was a real slog. If I hadn’t had my buddy there I think I’d have stopped. Then my R3 was the best yet! No idea why! 🤷♀️ just one of those things!
I had a really bad run couple of weeks ago. I graduated without any dramas but one of my consolidation runs was awful. I couldn't feel my legs and my head was spinning. I had to stop. It happens. Heat - and poor hydration- is not good for running for me! The next run was great. You're doing really well! Good luck!! 1😀😀😀
