Wk 7 day 2! Complete failure! Now sat on a park bench feeling absolutely rubbish! Never not completed a run before and here ii am after only barely making it way :'(. Would it be a bad idea to try again this evening as that's normally when I Run? Feel absolutely defeated!

I can understand that feeling. We all have bad runs. I'd leave it for today though, tempting though it is to try again. Have a rest, try not to beat yourself up , and try again another day. As we have all found out, any run is better than no runs - presumably 8 weeks ago you would have just have been on the sofa?

Hi Tracey, don't despair....it happens like this sometimes and there's not always a reason for it. I had a really crap W7 R1 on Monday and now realise that I was actually feeling a bit below par for a couple of days,so though I completed the run,it felt like a real struggle from start to finish. This morning I went out with no great expectations and had a great run.

As the supportive people on here will tell you,we all have 'bad' runs...... sometimes they pop up when you least expect them and can dent your confidence in your own ability, just try not to let that happen.

Put it behind you, don't dwell on it.

Personally, I'd say don't try again tonight....have a bit of a breather and try again ,maybe at your usual running time of evening...tomorrow ?

Chin up , I'm sure when you repeat this run you will nail it...after all, you've already done it in R1 ,so you know you can :)

Today was just a bad run day. We've all been there. Try again tomorrow. Weeks 7 and 8 are not nice, are they? But I'm sure that somewher in week 8 it will all click. Mark my words. good luck, Delia :-)

Chin up and hold your head high and think about how far you've come. You've had a bad run which we all have and mine occurred in week 7 too. Repeating these longer runs can feel gruelling but believe me it does get easier. Rest up today and if you are feeling ok try again tomorrow. Good luck

Yes, just a bad run. Changing when/where you run often makes a big difference - sometimes for the better, and other times for the worse - but you can't really predict which! Don't waste time analysing it though - just put it behind you. Often good runs come after bad ones. :)

Maybe you need an extra recovery day? The demands of the longer runs can start to add up.

I found week seven tough too - just a bad run, shake it off, have a rest and try again. Good luck!

I'm just about to start Week 8 and I too had an awful run Week 7 Run 2 - see my blog "Week 7 Run 2 Rubbish but look how far I've come" to see how I felt about it...

All I can say is that Run 3 of Week 7 was slightly better (I kept on repeating to myself "you can do it, you can do it, keep going, keep going"). Run 2 was, as everyone says, not a great run for both of us and that's just how it can be sometimes.

You've got this far and managed to do Run 1 of Week 7 so that's an achievement in itself and you've definitely made progress. I would also leave it for today and possibly even tomorrow - recharge those batteries and try again on Friday.

You CAN do it.

Thankyou everyone! I feel much better after reading all this! I normally run, mon, wed and fri evenings so I think I'm gonna leave it til Friday evening and get out there and nail it! I was so annoyed with myself for giving up but I knew from the first few mins that I wasn't gonna manage it. Onwards and upwards! Thanks for your support fellow C25Kers :)
