Picked a flat route on the Cloud Trail this morning, started Strava at the start of my 25 min run segment on the app, when I reached the end of the run I still left good so decided to see if I could continue for the 5 minutes cool down bit , when I did that still felt good so ran to my next ‘marker bridge’. Stopped Strava & result was run time 31:52 distance 4.9km 😱 sitting here grinning. Back to program on Monday 🏃♂️

W7R2 wow what just happened

Wow that’s a great time for 5k. Funnily enough I also 'cheated' at the end of W7R3 and ran through the warm-down, but I don’t have any tech that can tell me how far I've run.

Well done. Really good run.
I don’t want to be a party pooper... Just be careful extending too much.
Someone posts a graphic from time to time which shows the main reasons for injury. The big one is “I felt great so I kept running”.
Many thanks I’m back on program for the next runs, I think I just noticed the difference of a lower temperature & very little elevation gains on this route, think I’ll use this route once a week until the end. Don’t want any injuries at this point as doing a 5K Big Funrun for Cancer Research in August.
Show off 😂well done you! Why does that never happen to me- when the cool down starts I can barely walk never mind carry on running 🙄😂
Good effort!
I'm guilty of doing extra bits at the end too, especially on my Saturday runs. I have a tendency to run too fast as well, maybe I need some slower music...
