I completed week 4 on Friday morning. I was feeling good and looking forward to the challenges of week 5. People had started to compliment me on losing a bit of weight and I felt so much healthier.
Yesterday, I took the dogs for a walk and my leg went down a pothole and rolled my ankle, followed swiftly by the dog tugging on his lead and me rolling the ankle again. I was about a mile from the road so I had to struggle on until I could ring someone for a lift. I’ve had it X-rayed and it’s not broken but badly sprained. It’s blinking sore!
So, C25k is on hiatus for the time being and I anticipate having to start at week 1 again once I’m in a fit state. Any tips from fellow C25kers that have been in a similar situation would be appreciated!
(Excuse the dirty foot in the picture - it was taken as soon as I got home to send to my nurse/partner for remote assessment!)

Ouch, that looks painful. Look after yourself and only start back up when it is totally healed. The only advice I can offer is when your ready and it feels healed give it another week. We have a tendency to start back running before we are ready as runners and this can store problems for later that you will have to take more than a week of so the extra week is worth the wait. You will have a lifetime of running ahead of you so patience is your friend. Take care. Rfc x .
Oh no! That does look sore. Take care of yourself. The C25k programme will always be there for you to restart whenever you are fully healed and ready. ❤️
Best advice I can give is give yourself 2 or 3 days proper rest then check out Caroline Jordan Hurt Foot fitness programme on you tube. Exercise you really can still do without putting weight on your foot. Also stretching which you will need from compensating. It will make you feel better than not being able to do anything. Her positivity is also good for not letting you feel too sorry for yourself.
I began running a tad earlier than I was supposed to but only on the spot which is an art in itself but yours is an ankle injury so you're going to need to be super careful.
Concentrate on what you CAN do rather than what you can't.
Many thanks for this. I’ll check out the Caroline Jordan video(s) - thankfully, I’m able to bear weight on it without too much pain so I’m hoping it’s not as bad as I first thought. I’ll not be rushing my recovery though!
