A long road to graduation, for the second time....

On October 10th 2018, I came off the pavement running in the dark and fractured my ankle - Ouch!

After a period of recovery and lots of physio, spring / summer 2019, I tried running again, but it was not to be, my foot was too painful to run on.

Resigned to the fact I would not be able to run again, it wasn’t until January this year that my daughter asked me to run with her to practice for a school cross country race, I on my trainers once again and to my surprise, my foot had continued to heal and I could run a little without discomfort.

I stated the C25K program once again, and slowly slowly built up my stamina along with using exercises to strengthen my ankle. Last week I did something I never would have believed possible a year and a half ago, I completed C25K, (again).

I feel so fortunate to be able to run again, and I cherish the experience so much more now, knowing how easily it can be taken away - I have also learned that time is indeed and great healer - happy running! (And be careful in the dark)!

PS - I also want to thank the community on here, for my daily reminder of the joys of running!

Fantastic that you have managed to get up and running again. The picture shows just how painful your ankle must have been at the time.

It’s brilliant that you are getting stronger. Take it steady though, you don’t want to undo all the good work you’ve done getting it back to full strength .

Congratulations to you!👏👏👏😀👍🌺🌸🌼

Congratulations! That’s a fantastic achievement! I broke my foot last summer and had to stop this programme. I started again in April and will be starting week 8 tomorrow.
