Well out at 5.30 again this morning to do my 3rd run of week 4, started well, although yet again I lost Laura part way so frustrating when you have to try and refined he podcast must be a better way to download these, will look at that tonight.
Anyway, started off ok, I'm not the fastest runner anyway, but was going ok, but is it normally to get to the last 'run' of the session, and feel like you can't do it? The last two weeks on day 3 I've felt the same, and think I need to repeat a week, but then week one the next week isn't too bad ....... Although not sure I will feel the same in week 5!π
I am struggling a bit with a bit of ankle pain this week, I do have a weakness anyway so I'm surprised it's not worse than it is, can anyone recommend a good brand of ankle support for running?
Oh well healthy breakfast eating - now to get through a days work...... Think I'll drive today, rather than my normal 3k walk give my ankle a rest.
have a good day all....π

Wow! 5:30 in the morning! I haven't been up that early since my son was a baby. He's 18 now and home from University for the summer and the chances of him being up that early are about the same as Donald Trump being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize π. If you are finding the last run of each week hard it's probably the gremlins getting in your head and messing with it. They know when to get in and you are probably waiting for them. Give your mind something else to do, check in with your body, legs: are you still able to move them? feet: can you still put one in front of the other? breathing: are you still able to take the next breath? I found the answer was always Yes and it set my mind off onto another topic rather than waiting for the run to end. I have also found a lot of this running lark is mental and my mind is more likely to let me down than my body. Maybe it will work for you? Regarding your ankles, I don't have that problem myself, but a friend who used to run with dodgy ankles had some 'figure of 8' shaped neoprene ankle supports that really helped him. Good luck with next week, I am sure you will demolish it ππ
5.30 in the morning? Ommigod. I'm not surprised the Gremlins get you. I couldn't agree more with Bundoodle - the gremlins are ready, and you've grown to expect them. So reprogram your brain and tell it you're on the penultimate run - running is the proof of the old saying "mind over matter". The body does what it's told, as long as YOU'RE in charge. So don't hand the wheel over to the gremlins next week, strap 'em to a chair in the corner of your mind with the TV remote firmly stuffed in their gobs. You've got this.
Well done with w4r3 you have finished the entire week, despite yourself and at 5.30 in the morning! Ouch can only just lift a kettle at that timeπ I have had self doubt almost every time I started a run. I suspect my bad experiences outside yesterday were the gremlins that mfamilias mentioned I'd grown to expect as I had built up the running outside to a big concern. Can't help you with the ankle pain thing, although I notice my legs are really stiff today, hoping it will pass with rest, perhaps an extra days rest may help your ankles?
You had me at "Out at 5:30 again this morning". Now that is dedication (there is only one 5:30 in my world, and that is tea time lol)
Yes it is normal to feel a bit knackered on day 3, especially if you have also done a full working week. The point is that you are doing it anyway and as your body adapts and becomes fitter, things will become easier.
Good for you for sticking to the program, hope your ankle is OK x
