Now that wasn't in the plan - Just about 2k into this mornings run and felt a twinge in the left thigh - PANIC STATIONS!
Nah! No panic, just made an executive decision to abandon the run. I certainly have no plans to spend weeks on the IC, so pull up and walk back to the start line was the order of the day.
Disappointed , yes - discouraged, no, definitely not. Why risk a potential serious thigh strain when I've have got a medal race in just 7 weeks time.
So a couple of days rest and then back on the SAS (Slow And Steady) path.

Yeah, all good Lounge. Just felt a real twinge, so slowed to a walk for a bit then tried to pick up the pace, straight away I felt a bit of a pull so called it a day. Thankfully, no pain or discomfort so I believe a a wise decision was made.
You definitely made the right decision! I’ve been on IC for three weeks now due to ignoring thigh pain. Won’t do that again. Hope yours doesn’t develop into anything more serious🙂
It's horrible when you have to sit out. You get so used to this running thing, that being forced out through injury is really tough. Hang on in there and you'll be back posting a new PB in no time.
Well if you have got a good shin, my knee is ok, we just need some one with a good thigh and between us, we can make a good leg - we'll just have to share!
