Sensory deprivation for the win

So I just did the Week 5 Run 3, after a week off. So I had all the thoughts - maybe I should redo run 2, it’s your longest break, redo run 2 as it sucked and you only just managed that, you have another 5 days of standing with no seats ten to ten after this, what if you can’t work, it’s too hot. You have a sore throat.

So I didn’t go last night. woke this morning feeling good so thought I’ll start it, it’s not intervals so I’ll just run till i can’t. Practice run as a wise soul on here called them. No pressure.

Well here is a secret. Go stand in a tent with air con and no daylight. Do only this for a week, having to talk endlessly about the weather outside you haven’t seen. Then run OUTSIDE. Run Week 5 Run 3, where you just get to run in the zone for 20 minutes. You will simply enjoy air so much you will grin your whole way round.

This should be in the program. Sensory deprivation for the win!

But seriously learnt today how much of this is mental and how much is not at all about your body. Having read lots on here, everyone says it but you need to do to see it!

Happy runs with air everyone!

Well done! People worry a lot about a week off. People worry a lot about W5R3. You managed both with ease. Enjoy W6!

Well done on your run 💪 I have to say I’m starting week 5 on Monday and already thinking about the 20min and the end of the week ! I just keep thinking I’ll really struggle 🙄 But I’m certainly going to give it a shot !!

I honestly think you will be fine, as they say your muscles are doing science things we don’t understand to get you to the end. I don’t even feel sore. It’s magic and science and we just got to keep going! Let me know how it goes!

I remember dreading that run. It seemed like such a big step. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised at my ability. Trust the program it really does work.
