So, I saw a bargain on the Adidas website and bagged myself a really lightweight running jacket ready for when the heatwave ends and normal British summer resumes. It’s mainly white with a bit of grey and some reflective bits, so should be good in the dark. It arrived earlier in the week.
And then I thought about later in the year and wondered if other kit would be cheaper and found some Under Armor gloves in their sale. And some funky black and grey and white patterned shorts. They come today.
And then I saw back on the Adidas website a really nice white running singlet/vest in the sale, same pattern as the jacket. And would go with the shorts. Oh and a white climacool running cap, all venty and ting. Coming Tuesday.
Now I’m a shopping addict as well as a running one 😳

Hahaha a man after my own heart. Nothing wrong with a bit of retail therapy. We really need to be able to add pictures to these comments because I wanna see! *pouts* *wonders off to have a look at Adidas website*
She’s a flame-haired footballer, built like a whippet, sadly at least 2 decades too young for me and who I managed to embarrass myself with on returning from a hot run, red and dripping, as she emerged from my back garden having stashed another parcel in my safe place!
Hi Jay, there’s so much stuff out there I’ve now discovered I “need”! 🙄 The summer running kit is more or less sorted now, but of course we’ve got shorter evenings to look forward to, so reflective gear is a must, then there’s rainproof stuff and gloves of course. 🙂 The list is almost endless! 😊👍
Let us know how you get on with the new gear. It’s always useful to get an unbiased opinion! 😀
Will do. The Adidas jacket is fab (but that is based on look and feel, not having run in it yet). They’ve replaced it with a new design, hence the discount.
I can recommend the TCA brand kit on Amazon. Well made and really good prices. Various “warmths”.
Love this Jay...it shows your intention to keep running into next season and beyond...🏃..
Having great kit makes all the difference.
I only got wireless headphones in November, before that it was an Mp3 player wired up in an armband. Now also have a second hand Garmin Forerunner bought at a snip on ebay (thank you Ted for the tip)..
I’m going to be running whilst I have the health to do it. Simples. And I’m working hard at my weight as that is the thing that is limiting me the most.
I want another tshirt based on the Paul Whitehouse/Bob Mortimer fishing programme - “All the gear, no idea”!
I love it!! My husband remarked at the weekend that I have quite a large selection of gym/running stuff. AND???? Here I am with no chance of any running or exercise for at least two months and I’ve just come from the bamboo clothing (.co.uk!!) site having bought two (more) gorgeous cooling bamboo tops (absolutely wonderful for running in the heat) oh and some trainer socks! I’m addicted too 😄 It will probs be winter when I’m in trainers again but I will have them for next year!
My brother had a convertible once and we went for a drive on Dartmoor in it . I got smacked in the forehead by a bee. At 65mph that’s like being shot in the head by a furry bullet.
A friend renovated an MGB Roadster. His first outing in it fully finished was an autumn morning going to work. Roof off despite the chill in the air. He had a close encounter with a deer. Neither the car nor the deer left the scene intact.
Well the hat is classed as health and safety in this weather, and you've got to have several pieces of running gear so that you don't have to wash them straight away. So lots of good reasons jay66uk 😎
But I always wash my stuff as soon as I get home - my machine has a “sportswear” setting that has never known what hit it since this programme started.
And I’ve got no significant other any more to make any excuses to!
Oh no , how about being green and saving it up until you have at least 2 sets if you don't need it straight away. Just let it dry out before putting in the wash basket.
Love the new kit. Looks great. I've been out all day in sports shops (again, new weekend activity). How much stuff do we really need?? I've had my eye on that Adidas cap as well. It looks so lovely. Well jealous 🤩
