Well after my self triumph on Saturday I took myself off to sports direct and treated myself to two new long sleeved running tops, running shell jacket (really light) and some men's running tights ha ha, oh and some gloves. All of which came to £54. Well pleased. I totalled up the price they should have cost and came to a huge £146. BARGAIN!!!!!!!!!
Anyway back to the point tonight it was totally pouring down so I put my new running tights, top and jacket on, beany hat and set out, much to the delight taken by my daughter laughing at me in running tights. Off I went and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Managed that hill again and carried on all the way home, ran 3.2 miles in 30 mins, quite pleased with that.
Must sat the tights were good but I will carry on with my shorts until the temp really drops down.
Oh and I have my nice new green graduation badge too. Loving this running. Never thought I would say that but I do. Can't believe how far I've come in 3 months, never would have thought I could run but you bet ya, I blood well can

oooohhhhhh, sounds like you had a fab shopping trip, a well deserved treat. Isn't it funny how we treat ourselves with more running gear - I'm just waiting for my sportsdirect.com order to arrive, can't wait
BTW its part of your job as a parent to look daft from time to time and embarrass your daughter
Haha it's great isn't it? I never thought I would spend my evenings perusing sportswear websites but I do. Most of the parcels we receive are football/rugby gear for the children or running/cycling gear for myself and my husband I love it!!! I haven't bought much, just a couple of long sleeved tops as I was wearing my husbands and they were too big in the sleeves.
Mandmdirect do some really nice running gear and all approx 70% off.
Congratulations on graduating, ill hopefully be there in a couple of weeks.

Running tights are ace!! I never, in a million years, ever thought that I would set foot out the door in a pair, but now that I have I think they are fabulous.
Sounds like a great run! I also find myself looking at running websites for reviews on gear and to try and figure out what item I might buy. I recently bought tights and a long-sleeved top and I love them! The top is so soft, i would love to wear it all the time. My next purchase will be a jacket, I am interested to hear how yours works out. I am leaning to something that is non-waterproof and very light.
I suppose the tights issue is much easier for women!
Sounds good, James! Gone are the days we treated ourselves to a Mars Bar or packet of crisps! Now it's all running tights and pedometers (although I am currently lolling on the couch with a glass of vino!). Woll be trying out Stamina tomorrow or Thursday - wish me luck, I'll need it.
Can't beat a glass of vino, little of what you want does no harm lol, I shall have a glass of Shiraz now I thinks ha ha. Good luck with the stamina, but you won't need luck
