I braved the heat this evening, walked up through the shady next-door nature reserve and ran round the village following the shade. Half way through, ‘Mama do the Hump’ was playing on my Girlpower playlist, and the lyrics really spurred me on. Something like ‘not reducing the pace half way through’ lol! Ok, we know it IS ok to reduce the pace anytime in order to keep going, but at the time it was quite apt!
As for those last 5 minutes as I struggled up a slight hill, after overtaking a group of teenagers on bikes (albeit stationary!!), Salt n Peppa were telling me to ‘push it, push it real good’ !!! 😂
We all have different music tastes, but any other songs that have inspiring lyrics to keep us going?
P.S. I pushed it and I did it. I’m a runner! 🏃🏻♀️

Happy Hour by The Housemartins got me up a hill recently. Other songs that have helped me include Live Forever and Rock’n’Roll Star by Oasis, Boys and Girls by Blur, The Boys are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy.
‘Feel it still’ by Portugal suits my pace great, and other tunes are ‘Shake a tail feather’ Ray Charles, ‘I predict a riot’ by Kaiser Chiefs and ‘Whip it’ 😄
