Hurrah! Had to take two rest days after my last run as my hay fever, sinuses and asthma have been insane. Fully medicated up I set off before I could talk myself out of it. First five to eight mins was regular misery but gave myself a solid talking to and was literally screaming at myself in my head to keep going, promising myself something spendy online if could get through this. Before you knew it Jo was telling me I was at 12 and half minutes and the Galway bell ring. For me, that is always a huge mental block to have got through, as I now know I’m in the home stretch. Can’t say I enjoyed it, but it was less hard, and my favourite part of the run is the final third, really pretty gardens, done friendly neighbours who are often outside and always cheer me on. I didn’t quite sprint the final 69 seconds as there was some real fear I may fall over 🤣, but I did pick up a bit and definitely full on punched the air when done! Got two thumbs up by the serious runner on my street too. 👍👍 Am out if my mind please with myself! Never, ever, when I was struggling with week one, and two, could I have seen this.
W6R3 done!: Hurrah! Had to take two rest days... - Couch to 5K

Don't know about Usain Bolt 😹, but I now know I can do it if push through. Which is huge!
Excellent. You must be so proud!
I am, thank you! Can't quite get my head around the fact I just ran 25 minutes flat out!
Woooo well done!!! Great feeling isn’t it.. did mine today too. Go us.. week 7 and onwards now 🙌
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 6, you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER, onwards and upwards to week 7. 😊 🏃🏾
Fantastic, well done. Intervals are a thing of the past now.
I feel the same about that home stretch. The last 3rd is the most enjoyable I find too. 🏃♂️☺️
Thanks! It really is amazing the transformation from week one, and two, both of which I really, really struggled with. With me, it really has been a mind game. Understanding the Toxic Ten will pass, and to take two rest days if I want or need to. To enjoy the feeling of accomplishment and of getting stronger.
WoW you 🌟 Gold Star today , such good news and why wouldn’t you be proud , having to manage the asthma as well . Your an inspiration to others . Enjoy your next target 🏃♀️🐾
Thanks for that! I've found that cutting myself a break, ie taking an extra rest day when I need it, is really helping me. And the running is actually, of course, good for my asthma. Its just a matter of picking the right time of day to go out (early as poss in the morning is best for me), and if hayfever, sinuses and asthma are bad then I can't.
