As the title says, I finished W9R3 didn't get out yesterday because of Storm Callum, then woke up this morning and it was lashing. Debated with myself for a few mins and as my sister said... you're not made of sugar, the rain won't melt you π so off I went and I enjoyed it. I smiled as I ran the last km lol I was so chuffed!
I'm absolutely delighted with myself and the confidence this program has given me, along with the lovely advice from everyone is just fab!
I started this to see if it would help with my depression and it really has!! I still take my meds, but I'm a happier person now all round. I'm still very shy posting on here, but am gaining confidence
To those who are unfit - I never ran before, are carrying extra weight (I'm 5ft1 and size 16), ex smoker - 4 months now, feeling nervous, please keep at this program no matter how often you might have to repeat a week or run. If I can do it, anyone can ππ
Now to go and make sure hubby has bought me a bar of chocolate to celebrate and the Prosecco is in The fridge π
Well done Sweetpea! Itβs an epic achievement and you have every right in the world to feel proud! And in this weather! πππππππββοΈπββοΈ
Now go and enjoy your prosecco and bask in your well deserved glory! You are amazing! πππ

What a fabulous post. (And what a fabulous sister π
Congratulations Sweetpea! I've just had what I consider to be an awful 5k race over in Windsor. Didn't even get to 3k before the walking had to kick in but I did complete and you've just reminded me how far I've come/we've come (I'm only just squeezing into 14s now. A month ago I was a 16 and this time last year I was a 20/22. So keep going Sweetpea and keep that commitment to yourself. Enjoy the chocolate and Prosecco x
Congratulations! Amazing how running changes other aspects of health isnβt it? Hopefully you can get off the meds in time too. You should be hugely proud of yourself and you definitely earned your chocolate and prosecco!
Maybe a shiny graduate badge next to your name will give you more confidence to post on here!
Enjoy celebrating tonight and many miles of future running.
Thanks so much UNMπ Your posts have especially been a great help, even if I am just lurking reading them lol. I'll enjoy a few days rest and then back out as I've 5 weeks until my sister's wedding!
No worries. Enjoy some time off, I took a few after graduation and it felt fantastic to go back out there after... youβre going to that wedding in good shape.
I love the fact that you took control of your health and had the courage to try something new and not at all easy to help you to feel better ... and itβs clear thst it was a major success on so many levels . Keep going and be very proud of what you have achieved x
