Don’t worry about the treadmill. It’s not that bad really. My gait wasn’t neutral, who knew!? It limited my choice of trainer, but don’t feel pressured into buying top of the price range, go faster stripe variety, whatever your gait turns out to be. Good luck. 😊
A good running shop will make you feel at ease. I went to one in Manchester and I was like a fish out of water. The guy there was just brilliant with me.
I enjoyed my time at my local shop! Nice chats. Very relaxing. £120 spent though but I was starting to get shin splints and that pain has all but gone now. I massively over pronate. It’s a big commitment though for you this early on. Wait til you know you want to continue, once you get do the longer runs possibly. Maybe wait a few weeks or have it as a graduation present to yourself?
I’m on week 8 - I had pain under the arch of my right foot for a while last run, I shifted the angle of my foot a bit.
I did go to a shop a while ago and went on a treadmill and was told my shoes were ok for my gait, but to be honest the girls in the shop didn’t appear that bothered me compared to watching the sport that was on the tv. I may try again with another shop. I feel like although my shoes were classed as supportive- I could do with more - I really struggled with my ski boots and needed insoles added
