I have only gone and done it! I don’t know but I was really scared today. I really thought the bubble might burst after all the elation of W5! So, I went out there reminding myself, I’m running to my destiny! It will be fine! Not sure I was believing it that much, but hey, a self-pep talk doesn’t hurt!
I don’t really look at the details about the run, so when MJ said the first run was just 5 mins, I was shocked! Hello? 👋 “I can run for 5 minutes”. Then the next when he said 8! Hello, 👋 “I’m on it MJ, we’ve got this!”, though you don’t sound like you’re too out breath here! 🤨 By the time the final run came, I knew I could do it.
I didn’t choose the best time to go out! No hungry looking dogs this time, but lots of school kids and commuters. But I didn’t want to give myself any excuses in case I kept putting it off all day, so I went out there. I ran past the high school at it’s busiest time and thought it could get messy with these youngsters, as I run slower than they walk, but the cherubs just averted their eyes and if there were any sniggers, my headphones were securely in place! I so wish I ran when I was their age! It seemed like it was waaaay too much effort! A waste of time! 🙄 That’s youth for you! Now, it seems like the best time ever! So maybe it all just works out how it should in the end! 2 more to go in W6 now!! (Had to edit to add W6 🤣)🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️😁😁❤️

Thanks BlondeAmbition72! Honestly, you can do it! I’m grateful to Oldfloss who said yesterday just run your run! Maybe more eloquently, but that’s what I did! Due to the self inflicted build up, I was prepared for it to be ugly and it was actually quite cute! 🤣! Good luck to you! ❤️
Powering on through the programme - can't believe you are on week 6 already! Smiling to think of you worrying about running outside at the start, and now look at you running past a high school without a care 😎
Thank you! I know! It was definitely one of those “well, it’s time to face the music......do this and nothing can stop you” moments! I did it! 😁😁 So pleased about that. Might even secretly be more than the run! I can run outside, in rush hour, in the park and around groups of youths! Not much I can fear now! And it’s only been 6 weeks! 😱 🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️❤️
Thank you Jay66UK, I set out expecting a challenge but I knew I just had to get the headphones on and go for it!
My son said we should go running together on Friday...mmm... I told him, Friday isn’t my day and he had to be prepared to run on! My boys come back having run like a whirling dervish! 😱 I’m not trying to join them! This is my time and I’m loving it! 🐌 I think they’re impressed though! The cherubs! ❤️
15 and 25! (Just Jay!😁) They’re a big part of my inspiration. The older one does Tae Kwan Do and the younger one plays rugby! I love watching them play because they’re so happy doing what they love!
I only did a bit of YouTube keep fit at home before now! Then joined the gym only 2 months ago and now I’m running! 😁❤️
Well done - sounds like you had a great run! Never too late to get fit & healthy. I want to be the best ever for my 60th - got three years to go but can’t rush these things 😉
Thank you so much! I’m doing the same for my 50th next year QueenTea, hence the forum name! I’m sure you will be the best ever for your 60th!! You might even be running marathons by then! ❤️❤️
🤣🤣 Tip is, it doesn’t matter if you look like you may just need a paramedic at some point soon 🤷🏽♀️, in your head you’re Mo Farah out on a very leisurely run with MJ! I don’t mind being male from time to time! 😂
Well done you! Sounds as though you've totally got this running thing nailed. I'm now looking forward to doing this run after having just done W5/3. W6/1 seems like a walk in the park in comparison!
Kids are a bit of a nightmare as well...I've encountered a few groups when I too have timed my run on school home-time. They just don't get out of the way despite looking at you running towards them! Gah!
Aaah thank you Sallenson! I’m sure it’s the same as everyone else! The time has just gone so quickly! It’s incredible! Congratulations on your graduation too! I’ve gone suitably crazy in celebration on your post! You amazing runner you!! Love the EJBs! Champions all around! 🎉 🎉 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎓🏆
Thank you Tracey! I’m loving having my running buddies to share the experience with! Makes such a difference! I love reading posts too! We are so good at supporting each other! We’re all fabulous!! 😁😁❤️
Well done! W6 is a tough one so great that you got through it.
Thanks Rob, I’m not wishing it on myself, but I always feel a little bit nervous at the points where I know it’s a step up. I prepare for the fact that this could be the one that beats me, but I have to get out to find out! And if it does, I’ll be back out there to show that chatty mind, who’s boss! I can tell you that my challenges early on, just getting to run (not to mention the increase in weight on the gym scales again! But it was a bit of a low blow 😧) made me realise, I could only be stopped if I think there’s only one way! I’ve learned to be flexible. I go out to have an adventure, I know what I want to do, but not how I’m going to do it. Still don’t! But the best part is I now think it’s fun! 😲😁❤️
I’ve literally just got back. My kids’ Dad was late picking them up so had to delay going out. Well done you! I’m loving this running lark so much. We can call ourselves runners, can’t we? 🤔😊
