W5 R3 Yay! 20 minutes in one go! (but what does she say at the end?)

That's it - my first ever 20 minute run and it wasn't nearly as bad as I had thought it would be and I can't quite believe I have done it! One thing though - at the end of the cool down walk I was busy stretching and heard her say something about 'you may want to repeat W5 before moving on to W6 as the runs get harder' but I didn't catch it and I can't find a way to hear it again without undoing my run or having to listent o it all again - anyone know what it was she said?

Well done on the 20 minute! Feels good doesn’t it? I think the talk at the end was just about it being Ok to repeat the run if you struggled or couldn’t keep going for the full time, before moving on. You have 2 sessions of intervals left in week 6 but then no more stopping in the middle. If you managed the 20 minutes I would just crack on with Week 6!

Thanks so much for the response - I feel great - I'll definitely crack on with W6, then!

I have W6R2 tonight - but suggest respect for W6R1 - even though there is less total running time. The middle 8 minute run felt a bit longer than it is, to me, but if you felt really good after the 20 you should be fine. Most on here said don’t go faster just because it’s a shorter time. I run out of leg energy before air (I’m too fat, no muscle, but a good swimmer!) so I found keeping my heart rate up during the walks really helped when the run intervals came around again. Maybe the higher blood circulation rate gets more glucose to the leg muscles, or something! I’m definitely one that will have to find my 80% zone of effort after tonight 🤣
