Hi There, so per last post had a niggle during W3 R1 (Saturday) on left leg I guess right at bottom of calf that caused a little pain after for about a day so when walking. today was run 2 and scarily was actually looking forward to it however as soon as I started the jogging element pain came back - not drastic enough to force me to stop and I managed to finish but enough I noticed it most of the time.
Read a few articles and don't think am yet doing enough time to require the gait test but am keen to understand what I should do - allow extra few day rest? Try and stretch more - its odd as the general stretch I do (stretch leg out with hands against wall) doesn't seem to feel it. Have others had same and what have you done?

If the pain continues after the run, might be best to take an extra day or 2 of rest, see if that clears it up, if you do rest more and run again and it comes back, try the gait analysis, taking a few extra days to complete the programme is better than hurting yourself and having to take a break for a few weeks
I think it’s probably worth getting a gait test. I had pain in my hip, then my calf, then my ankle, glutes and back in the first 3-4 weeks - I had a gait test and the shoes I had were fine - I think it was just my body objecting to this new exercise regimen and using muscles that hadn’t been used in that way before - I haven’t had any pain at all for the last few weeks. I was making sure I did stretches after - there’s a link on this site to info re that I think
Thanks! For sure my body will be reacting to something versus the nothing I have done for years... just annoyed I think as was just starting to "sort of" look forward with less trepidation. Will look up some stretches for calves wait an extra couple of days then see how I go.
Cool thank-you! had a quick go and that one whilst can feel stretching doesn't seem to affect the part lower down that hurts. been researching off of the link and seems if bend leg might work or slightly different one - will give them a go later. Thanks for response
Been doing the stretched for calves couple times a day and does seem to be easing. today instead of run 3 I walked for 20 minutes and whilst I could feel a little tightness was not too bad (even did 7 mins very slow jog @ 7.5knph that was "ok") so fingers crossed another few days and then go back to program
