W5R2 - and a new fast km

It was might hot today, my hottest run so far and a step up for the 8 min runs.

Managed to get a 7.02 on one of the KM, would have been the woodland, slightly downhill run!

Feeling nervous for the big 20min run on Weds, need to plan the route very carefully!!

Any tips for uphill runs??

Doesn't matter about times on a KM, maybe slow down a tad for the next run!

Thanks!! Think I was so pleased to get out the sun and in the woods I stepped up a gear or 2!

Well done I've just completed the 20 minute run, with some ease after the trepidation I had. If you are doing 7min km then you should do it with no probs, maybe take it easy for the first few mins to ease yourself in. Only tip about uphill - look forwards to the downhill section and take your time if you need but keep going !

Thank you!!! I’m just apprehensive as I sort of panic when I see a hill!!

Focus just 10m ahead of you on those hills, it wont look much of a hill at that distance, run, repeat. Shoulders back but relaxed so that you keep your airways open. Always remind yourself...... it feels hard because it's a hill ( its not that you can no longer run).

Small steps and take your time. Try to run right over the brow so that you can feel the difference when you hit the level or go down hill..... lovely!

If you can run hills you can run anywhere😀

However, if you need to avoid hills to get you through the programme then do so, hills can come later. If you get to a hill you can always turn round and go back remember!
