Just completed w3r1, leg pain a plenty

Just found the forum and loving it, it;s inspirational seeing so many people doing so well. I’ve been using c25k to get some structure to my cardio while getting back into going to the gym after a long period of time being unable to (ripped calf muscle).

I’m more than a (large) bit overweight and I know it’s a factor. But how does everyone handle leg pain when it comes? Do you rest more between runs or simply keep going at the last day’s pace until you feel you can progress. Just not sure how to keep progressing.

You read this and follow the programme... rest days between runs are essential and you never run through pain:)

If there is real pain there is a reason... and until that is identified you don't run.

Get the pain checked out :)

I've been getting tight calves after most of my runs. I've found the best thing is to ice it for 15 after then a hot shower and put my compression sleeves back on. Streach as many times a day as you can and dont run till muscles have recovered.

If you are getting pain while running you need to stop.

If you take a few days off you can work on strengthening exercises.

Good luck
