I did it!

Can’t resist boasting- thank goodness for this forum otherwise I’d have bored/ list all my friends by now.

Even sprinted for the last minute and didn’t keel over.

As Jo says, I now rule the world!

Wasn’t so bad either even though hot sun came out during run. Made sure I drank loads of water yesterday and ate pasta early evening.

So happy!

Enjoy your day everyone.

Thanks Bluebirdrunner ‘Onwards and upwards ‘ was my school motto, spooky!

Generated a lot of adolescent sniggersin a N London Girl’s school).

I’ll try and Log my run asyou suggested, but haven’t recovered from getting Strava up and running.

The link is just to the Global running week post that Rfc has kindly undertaken. We are seeing how many minutes/hours/days worth of training we are putting in this week!

Just log your minutes.😊x

Interesting what you say regarding sprinting in the last minute, this morning I run Week 8 run 1, my pace for the first 27 minutes was a steady 8.20/km an hour, however for the last minute of that 28 minute run I increased it to about 6.15/km an hour, I suppose doing that for the whole run would have been impossible, but for the last minute it gives me more confidence in my running.

I haven’t dared sprint before but like everything with practice I guess in time it will be easier to add extra minutes. I like Jo W’s suggestion to do it right at the end, psychologically easier to recover and engances the great feeling of finishing.

I only run a bit faster for the last minute, so that as I say gives me confidence for the next run, I don't sprint, just go a little faster.

No need for sprinting! Slow and steady! The last thing you need is to get hurt

Fabulous run, and go ahead and blow your trumpet 🎺 . That’s the great thing about the forum. We’re never bored by hearing about other people’s runs.

Ha ha, which is why we’re here

Don’t mention it to your colleagues/family/friends again unless you let slip that you are running a marathon, or better still, turn up with your medal 😁
