The link is just to the Global running week post that Rfc has kindly undertaken. We are seeing how many minutes/hours/days worth of training we are putting in this week!
Interesting what you say regarding sprinting in the last minute, this morning I run Week 8 run 1, my pace for the first 27 minutes was a steady 8.20/km an hour, however for the last minute of that 28 minute run I increased it to about 6.15/km an hour, I suppose doing that for the whole run would have been impossible, but for the last minute it gives me more confidence in my running.
I haven’t dared sprint before but like everything with practice I guess in time it will be easier to add extra minutes. I like Jo W’s suggestion to do it right at the end, psychologically easier to recover and engances the great feeling of finishing.
Don’t mention it to your colleagues/family/friends again unless you let slip that you are running a marathon, or better still, turn up with your medal 😁
