2.5kg lighter, jeans on for the first time in a week and they feel slightly baggy, belt done up one extra notch.

THIS is when it feels good!

Woof!! You've always been a hunk to us tho!!

That "my clothes feel a bit big" feeling is good tho eh?

Certainly is. About 5 years ago I did the 5:2 diet and lost loads of weight. But then piled it on again when life became stressful. Running is helping me lose it without fasting.

Eat in a sustainable, healthy way and you’ll be happy.

Added benefit of running - well done 👏

Absolutely. It’s the little things...like not feeling the need for alcohol, and enjoying smaller amounts when I have it; being mindful of the fact that this is fuel; knowing I have to lug any excess weight around for 30 minutes. Life changing.

It sure is! I was lugging around five Stones I didn’t need. I’m only a dwarf, so phew 🙄

Me too, actually. Except I’ve chipped the edge off one of them.

That’s great! Loosing weight without fasting, that’s encouraging. I just can’t do fasting so kinda enjoy reading posts that tells me that I can continue loosing weight without starving 😀

Ha ha! Yesss 💪👍😃. This is what happens. The fattest bits of us start to disappear first. You can literally run your ass off. Quickly! Mine was there one minute - the size of a small country - the next it wasn’t. I looked south for it but nope it was gone 🤷‍♀️

Well done! It’s all good isn’t it 😃👍

Keep running and eating healthily 👍😃🏃‍♂️

Well done Jay! That's a great weight loss - although I did have to convert it to pounds as I have no idea in kgs :-)

Jay66UK profile image
Jay66UKGraduate in reply to pianoteacher

Nor do I. I’m weighing myself in kilos as stones just demoralises me! My aim is to remain below 100kg (which I’m managing well, hovering 96-98).

Sadly I really need to be (...Googles it...) below 70kgs, so almost 30 to lose. 😱🤣🤣🤣

Just like couch25k - slow and steady Jay. Like misswobble says eat in a sustainable healthy way and you'll get there x

That's great! Well done. To lose weight I know I need to eat less and move more. At least I'm moving more!

My problem is I enjoy cooking and therefore eating. I’m getting my portion control working better - I batch cook and chill/freeze for future meals. But I’m a sucker for cheese, alcohol, sweet things, ...

Ang33333 profile image
Ang33333Graduate in reply to Jay66UK

Definitely cheese and alcohol! And crisps.... and sweet stuff. I'm better than I was. I lost 3 stone a few years ago and it is creeping back slowly. The running is to stop that and to make me eat better too. And I'm actually enjoying it!

You can enjoy cooking healthy stuff 👍😃

Well done! I really regret just weighing myself at the start of C25k and not taking measurements too. It's great to see and feel the results of all your hard work in any case!

Jay66UK profile image

Likewise. But I can tell. My calves are frankly amazing (ok, I’m a bit biased); my thighs have toned up too; my belly is definitely shrinking. Slowly but noticeably I’m getting thinner.

Well done Jay that is a great feeling. Unfortunately my clothes are still feeling tight 😢

Then choose to accept it (if only for now) or choose to change it. Fretting sheds only tears x

in reply to Jay66UK

Tough love eh?! Ha ha! No - you are absolutely right. I am trying to change it - I'm just impatient!

Jay66UK profile image

If only I could apply it to myself!

Seriously, worrying about it just feeds (sorry!) comfort eating, which is one of my downfalls.

My aim is long term. I want to be a shape I like by the time I feel ready to meet someone new. Running is really helping but not enough on its own.

Good luck making your changes - you know you can make yourself run, can you make yourself the shape you want to be as well? That’s my battle.

in reply to Jay66UK

I know it's hard I'm not overweight now - I'm very lucky I know but I have put on more weight than I would like having battled to lose 2.5 stone which took over a year to lose. Look how well we've done with the running though - we never imagined that did we? Well I didn't. We can do this too! Have you joined the healthy eating forum?

Jay66UK profile image
Jay66UKGraduate in reply to

Well done - I need to lose twice that and was hoping to do it in half that time! “Fat” chance!

No, not on the healthy eating forum. Dieting is worse than hills! 🤣
