Feeling a bit emotional right now. Just got back from completing week 9 run 3! Finished this amazing programme! It wasn't the easiest run we've had but WE DID IT!!!
We set out after lunch on Easter Sunday to begin week 1 run 1. Full of Sunday lunch, we set off. We quickly learned to go slow- thank you so much for all the brilliant advice and support from everyone on here - and we are still never going to win prizes for speed- !! But now we want to run and we are so proud of what we have achieved! Two complete non runners can run a bit now!!
Our next target is 5k eventually and our local park run at some point. My sister has a long sponsored bike ride this weekend so I'm running solo til she has recovered. Our husbands, who said we'd never do it, have decided they might join us now...we MIGHT let them!!
Thank you again for the support on this forum. You are all Amazing!

2 more to go! This running lark is definitely contagious - after mine and my son's Parkrun exploits my ex-husband now wants to have a go too. They're going to train together to do the 5k that happens every August Bank Holiday in the village where they live
Funny how doing this changes how you look at stuff! sallenson is doing our local half-marathon next year and I was looking up how to enter last night! 9 weeks ago I thought I hated running and was only doing it because I had to be able to for the Army
HURRAY!!! Well done Ang and sister! So pleased for you both. Been waiting for your post. Who needs speed prizes anyway? As for the hubbys...surely they can start their own team?! Delighted for you. ππππ₯And lovely pic.
Brilliant Ang! Huge congratulations to you and your sister! Lovely photo. Hope to follow you on to the podium in the next couple of days. Bask in your achievement ππ₯πΎπ
