So my friend and I are in our 50's, menopausal and carrying the excess weight of a small toddler around with us each! We took up this challenge in the summer and during our very first run - we only managed to complete 4 of the 8 x 1 minute runs and were quite disheartened, but determined.
We finally completed the programme last week (not in 9 weeks due to holidays, days off etc. since we started, but that's OK) and really can't believe it! We're not natural runners at all (see above!) but if we can do it - anyone can.
We saw advice on here early on mentioning Japanese Slow Running and have used this technique since week 2 and completely attribute our completion to this.
We've used this site for motivation and inspiration and can't thank the contributors enough for the encouragement and advice provided.
If you think you can't do it - think again! Slow down (run at walking pace to begin with) and you'll eventually complete the programme.
Good Luck to you all!

Well done to both you and your friend. It’s an amazing feeling completing something which, at the start, seemed impossible! You should be very proud of your achievement.
