So..I’m on the IC but hopefully only for a few days...Little one having bad dreams last night so I got in his bed with him..after being in there 15 mins I heard an alarm outside & Daddycav has just got a new van so paranoid me thought it might be that, so I sat bolt upright and went to investigate...William has a high bed with ladders at one end, well at 2:15am I wasn’t really compus mentus and fell down the flipping ladder, landing in a heap at the bottom, I felt my ankle fold...ohhhhh how it hurt...can you guess what my first thought was?? Yes...running!!! Oh no?? Will I be able to run tomorrow as planned?? I was a quietly squealing ball on the floor while everyone slept....then a little face appeared from above “oh Mummy, are you alright???” Bless, that made me smile through the pain....once the immediate pain had gone I hobbled downstairs using the bannister as a crutch on one side!! Went to the window & it wasn’t even the sodding van!!! It was the nursery over the road!! All was well though & it was probably a trapped fly or something...
So I’ve been walking on it today & now it’s swollen so ice pack & a couple of beers are on the menu tonight...I’ll have to be careful I don’t trip up over my bottom lip...
Please post as much as you can so I have some reading material sat here on my injury deckchair!!!
Happy running my lovely friends xxx

Thankyou Jan...I don’t want to be sat around for too long, you know what I’m like...got to get out there...just enjoying the sunshine in the garden at the moment xx
Thank you Floss...Daddycav is soooo talented & during the Easter holidays built a pond..we love it, we have fish, frogs, waterfall & fountain...he doesn’t do things by half!! X
Oh no, poor you! Such bad luck, too. Hope the swelling and pain eases soon dear MC. Rest rest rest - the running will wait for you. I don’t know about you, but I am developing a more philosophical approach to wee set backs - no point getting stressed. Hope your lovely family take care of you this weekend. xxx
Thankyou Sadie...I ran 2.5k of the plan the other night so I’ll have to see what I’m like when the swelling goes down..poss Monday but we’ll see...running can wait..but can I??!! I promise I’ll rest it xx
😂😂...that’s for the lighting...won’t be there for long!! Just a temporary measure until the outside sockets are done...thanks Marky...don’t want electricuting!!!
Make the most of being an invalid i.e. get the family to do your bidding! Relax with your feet(foot) up, take ibuprofen to help the swelling go down and when you’re back running you’ll be better than ever.
So sorry to read of your injury ☹️ but spend the time relaxing in that gorgeous garden you have. Request Daddycav acting as your pool boy, or should I call him your pond boy, waiting on you while you sit with your ankle raised.
Oh no! Poor you! Wishing you a speedy recovery! I’m envious of your pond!! My husband promised to make me a bird table about 25 years ago!!! I’m still waiting!!! 😂
Oo er missus, that's nasty What you need is a nice sunny weekend, DC in charge of the BBQ, with daddy's little helpers chipping in with some chores.... put the IC in the garden and rest your foot on an ice bucket crammed with beers, save for a small alleyway for your foot to nestle in. Now that sounds like a plan!!
Hope you are back in action soon, but fully better first
Thanks Fishy, That does sound like a plan!!! It’s not as swollen today, so I’m going to manage a wander round the 1940’s event that’s going on in town today & think about poss a gentle jog in the morning x
Oh, what a nightmare! Isn't it typical when you're doing so well. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Glad you could still smile, munchkins are the best aren't they??? Look forward to your best update, may it be positive news.
What a great story and so well told! The only thing wrong with it is you had to get injured and be in pain to tell it! Glad you can see the funny side.
Wish you a speedy recovery and make the most of the fuss you should get!
Oh dear, that's a pain in the ankle, not bum, lol. Seriously tho, hope it mends soon, you'll be back into your running before long, rest it up hunny bun xx
