Post grad run

Graduated on Monday, very delighted with myself and thought I have cracked this, How wrong was I !! I have done the whole 9 weeks in the gym and really quite enjoyed it, listening to lots of music and Sarah Millican, although a different message from Sarah on the last couple of weeks would have been a bit more encouraging. Anyway I thought I would go to the gym last night at 5 after work as usual and get my first post grad run under my belt, well it just didn’t happen, ! The gym was too hot, my phone went off after two mins, tried to dump call but persistent son kept calling, when I did answer , I got oh sorry are you on the treadmill ! Anyway he was calling to say they were on their way to go out for dinner with me to celebrate my birthday along with rest of my family, so now I was excited that my grandchildren were on their way so although I still had loads of time, I just could’nt get into it. I ran for a short time but did very brisk walk for most of it. So my first post grad run was total failure, Going to try again tomorrow night, more concentration required and hopefully I will get on better, after all I have already done the 30 mins runs three times.xx

Hi mairi1, Sorry I missed your graduation post on Monday, so first well done for that. Second Happy Birthday for yesterday. What better reason to abandon a run than children and grand children wanting to celebrate with you? I have picked up from this forum that there are no failed runs, just practise runs. I am sure you will have a post grad run when you are not being enticed away by your family. Well done again for graduating! 🎉🎉🎉🎓🍾🥂

Hi, thanks for that, it makes me feel a bit better, yes that was what it was a practice run and I am going to do much better today. xx

Ditto what 61 says, no run a failure, son and grandchildren “at that moment” to be enjoyed and every run now is a post graduation run anyway so many more to come. A couple of days rest and you can go again. Well done for graduating by the way. 😀
