Go for it. I started the plan in Jan but life got in the way and I did not have enough energy or time to complete the plan. Hopefully like me once week 2 is completed you will start to love it. Reading your post has given me the incentive to start again. Thank you and Good luck

Blimey... that is a target!

Well.. you have made a start! Follow the programme.. carefully.. and keep it slow and steady.. all the way. You will hear that advice often... it works :)

Take your rest days, and more if you need them as the runs get longer... try to exercise on rest days too.. swimming, cycling, walking???.... the strength and flex exercises are useful too.. many of us used them and still do, if we need to :)

I don't need to say that a healthy eating regime... ( not a diet), linked with this, will make a massive difference to you... and listen to your body. It is going to protest a bit at first... and the gremlins will probably be out to get you, trying to stop you moving:)

So... keep posting, for massive support and encouragement... and as the time moves on, there will be loads of advice form some of our amazing forum Marathon runners on here to help you move forward..after you Graduate!!!

Remember...

"You may not be there yet, but you are already closer than yesterday "!

Go for it :)

Well done on starting & yeah what a goal! Totally achievable if you really want it. 😀

Oldfloss has given you great advice, she's a wise owl, so take heed. 😀

My only other advice is if there's a Parkrun near you, sign up & start volunteering - great way to be inspiried. You don't have to be a runner to volunteer, and it's also fine to walk it, you'll never be last, as there's always a tailrunner, whose job it is to be last! (Loads of folks at my Parkrun never run, they just love volunteering!)

Enjoy the journey!

Why a half marathon though? It might be do-able within a year of leaving the couch but whether it's a good idea is another matter

doing too much to soon is not a good idea, in fact it's a terrible one and I would caution against it. Running legs have to be built and it takes 18 months to 24 months to build them.

There is no quick route to half marathon so start C25k, finish it and then think about The next step. One run at a time ... 🙂

Well done for starting the program Jonno. I started two years ago and had bother completing the 1 minute runs - did a half marathon last September and loved it. Follow the program and you will be fine and don't forget the biggest rule of all - don't skip the rest days!!! Can't stress that one enough. Good luck and welcome aboard.
