Having reached W6R2 without a hitch, went away for the weekend immediately followed by a business trip to London. In other words no running for over a week. Decided to restart from W4R1, and it was awful. Not helped by the App managing to pause itself twice in my pocket! Legs ache horribly but will persevere with W4R2 after a days rest. Should I have restarted further back?

Aww Pete!!

Wiser heads than mine sometimes say that if you've been off your feet for less than a fortnight, then pick up where you left off. You won't have lost very much of the form you've built up.

If you're into W6 then you can run continuously for 20 minutes. W6 throws in wobblies because it bring back walking breaks. Going further back into W4 might just make that mentally more complicated. Ad maybe a bit demoralising.

I'd say try W6R2 again to say hello to an old friend and evaluate from there. I wouldn't go any further back.
