So from the title you can probably gather Iām not feeling too greatš I was supposed to do W6R2 yesterday but hurt my back at work Monday so didnāt want to risk making it worse. Now I just feel like an absolutely failure and worried that my next run will be really hard as Iām having a few days off. Iām planning to go for it Saturday morning, Iāve been doing stretches and taking pain relief when required so hopefully Iāll be better soonš¤š¼

Thank you! It seems to have eased off a bit since Monday so fingers crossed itāll be better soon. Thank you Damien. Iām glad you came back from your injury!
As long as you have no pain come Saturday you should be able to run without any problems . Don't worry the run will be there waiting for you. Good luck š
Iāve just had 2 weeks holiday with no running and was really worried about starting again week 7//1 - but it was fine and not at all as Iād built it up in my head. So as long as you take care of your back, youāre going to be great.
As the others say youāll be fine in terms of fitness. May I suggest that when you return to running you try this low impact style of running - the Japanese slow jogging technique? Itās designed to avoid injury, so although you didnāt hurt yourself running, it might help ease you back in. I think itās a great technique for many of us to learn even if you donāt want to run this way all the time. Itās great for when itās too hot, after a break or injury, and brilliant (when the time comes) for attempting your first longer runs. And brilliant for building strength and stamina. I run this way all the time, because it makes the running pleasurable in the moment.
Itās worth watching the film a few times as there are several aspects to it - itās not just slow, itās about a particular soft landing, mid foot strike & short stride. Hope it helps!
Hey Georgie, please donāt get too despondent. Lots of people here to support you through the good times and celebrate your good runs. Perhaps your body is telling you to take it easy on yourself. Youāll be back doing it. The fact you are on here reaching out shows you care and really want to get to 5k .. which you will. Please look after yourself and push through those barriers which are always gonna come along from time to time. We are all behind you šš»
Thatās such a shame RunningStN but youāre doing the right thing in listening to your body - a bad back is the last thing you need as a nurse. But youāll be OK to pick up up where you left off after a few day. Take care - let us know how you get on come Saturday!
Gosh such a downer. Youāll get better, hopefully within a few days šš. C25k is joyous so thank goodness youāre doing it š. Slow and steady is going to get you through it. Slow as you like is wonderful. Take each session one at a time and enjoy it.
Thank you. Itās annoying because Iāve had a really good, positive experience and now I feel itās my turn to have that negative experience. But itāll get better. Thank you!
Thank you! I do Pilates at home anyway due to training to be a nurse and needing to take care of my back. I just pulled it at work annoyingly š I will get back to running at the weekend!
