A little setback

Well after the elation of my 1st Parkrun and completing W7 I was hit with norovirus. Apart from the unpleasant effects I have also been absolutly exhausted. However, this afternoon I pushed myself and did R1 of W8. I am pleased I made myself do it - I feel so much better for it.

Congratulations for running at all after contacting the awful norovirus, not sure if it was wise to run, nevertheless well done, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 8.

Well done. I lost a week due to Norovirus. I was as weak as a kitten for days afterwards.

Yes it a a nasty little bug that I do not ever want to encounter again. But worse for my 2 years old granddaughter who passed it to me. It took me completely off my feet for nearly three days but slowly and surely I'm getting back to my old self.

Well done! Very determined indeed!

I run using the Japanese slow jogging technique (I run this way all the time because I love it), but it can be a very useful technique to know for occasions such as this, or just running in the heat.

It’s low impact, but gives all the benefits of faster running!

Thanks for this - it is something I employ already - stops me over stretching and pounding the ground. I don't run very quickly yet but did run very slowly today just to make sure my energy levels got me all the way through.

Well done for getting out there ! If needed you can take a couple more days rest in between ?

I won't be running again until Thursday now - and even then it depends on how I feel - got a long work day tomorrow looking after a stall at a conference so expect to be talked out and worn out.
