Looking to Week 5 Run 3

Just finished week 5 day 2.

Some of these weeks have been real tough to get through

Despite aches and pains and a 4 day rest I'm still on target.

Worried about knees, shin splints reoccurring and going out to fast.

But really excited for Saturday as I think I'm ready.

My main motivation for Saturday is that I'll feel I've earned the right to call myself a runner on completion.

Hope my post encourages others to look at this run more positively!

Nice one Ricky! We are at the same stage at the moment. I’ve got W5R2 tonight and R3 on Saturday.

I suffered with shin splints and recently found out my running style was to blame.

If you think that might apply to you have a look at some of the vids on rifrev.com. If not - please ignore me!

Good luck on Saturday! 😀

Thanks Simon.

Got my gait looked at and it is was fine. I've been using compression sleeves which seem to be doing the trick for me.

Good luck on Saturday!

C'mon you two. Either break it up or get a room okay :-)

You are both going to be fine. Trust me because I'm a doctor and because I've just done the R3 thing. I can't promise "easy" or "pretty". But I can promise that if you take it slow you are going to feel on top of the world afterwards.

I reckon that once you've nailed this then the rest of the programme will be just fine. Not easy but fine.

Now when you've quite finished with the manhugs get your faffing trainers on :-)

Sorry, don't trust you because your not a doctor according to your other posts.

But thanks for the support.

Good luck! Honestly, you can do it, you have the fitness now. This run for me was mostly psychological and I felt amazing after I completed it!! And yes, proper runner status achieved! Lol!
