Hey LoonyLoo, we all have the โ€˜runโ€™ mine was W6 R1, others had W1 R1 and many others too besides. What I never realised, was how flipping emotional this running thing gets. It got to me in ways I couldnโ€™t understand. But the best advice was found in the hearts and heads of these lovely folk. And it pretty much goes as follows;-

write it off as a bad run

if you feel that you didn't really do it, then repeat it

if you feel you did it but it was horrid, then just move on, the next one will be better

take an extra dayโ€™s rest if you were really shattered after it, to give your bod and head time to relax and rest

Finally, give yourself a hug or get a loved one to do it... you went out, no run is ever wasted - youโ€™ve put more kms and minutes in your running bank and this will help you in your future running life.

Best of luck for a nicer one next time out

Hey lookalike. I did w4r2 this morning and I didn't feel like doing it (for the first time I could of stayed in bed). But got through it although I didn't have a smiley face at the end! I was glad I had done it as I think I would have been disappointed with myself if I hadn't. Hopefully Fridays run will be better. This run may have been tough but we did it and we can do the rest. Let me know how it goes. X

We're C25K twins ๐Ÿ˜‚. The first run was fine, so I'm hoping R3 will be ok and R2 was just a blip. ๐ŸคžI'm planning to run Friday too, so let me know how you get on... ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Hey loonyloo. Yes w4r3 done yesterday. Went ok although. I stupidly looked at w5 and now can't stop thinking about r3. OMG however am I going to be able to do it?! I will just have to try and trust the system. Did you run yesterday? I hope it went better than mine. Paula x

Same! Same! Same! Iโ€™ll be doing the next one more out of curiosity to see when/if it gets easier than out of my usual excitement ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Hiya! Just thought I'd pop a line to say that I finally got round to W4R3 and it was most definitely the best run yet! It was still hard but I found that I was more willing to push myself on with my mind if that makes sense. Feeling powerful and energetic to say the least! X

Hey rungirlyrun. W5r1. OMG I never thought I would do it let alone do it with ease! It went so well. I had eminem telling me to lose myself in the moment and I certainly did. With hall and oates telling I was a man eater!? It helps helps having banging tunes! Can't wait for Thursday and w5r2. Have you run a w5 yet. Let's hope yours is as good as mine and this lasts. Let me know. X

Paula that is fantastic! I canโ€™t wait to follow suit. I got a nasty head cold on Monday so waiting it out a little as I donโ€™t want to have to stop running to cough and splutter but Iโ€™m excited and hope I have as good a run as you! Hope I can get out tomorrow and do it! How about you, LooneyLou? Have you done it? How did it go? X

Hey rungirlyrun. W5r2 done 6.30 this morning. All good no problems really. Last 8 mins seemed a bit long but thought of all the lovely people on here and got through. Are you feeling better and running today? P x

RunGirlyRunโ€ข in reply toPaula2155

Hey Paula! Well done! I did W5R1 this morning - spluttering and snivelling with the remainder of my cold, but I got through it and it really wasn't bad! Its funny how the runs that afflict us one week can be our easy runs the next, isn't it? Crazy to think that we will soon be running the longer times. It has gone by so fast! Have you decided when you will be going on the big W5R3? Will be thinking of you!! X

Hey rungirlyrun. Well done for r2. Yes it is strange when comparing horrible w4 and how good this week has been. Let's hope it lasts. I am hoping to do r3 sunday morning as I am in work the next couple of days and thought I might need a bit longer to recover! How about you? P x

If the sniffles abate I might aim for saturday, if not, probably sunday however. Good luck with your R3 on sunday keep us posted!! X

My hard run was around end of week 4 I think, if it wasn't for everyone on here I might have given up

My most rubbish run was w4 r3 - I reckon there must be something about week 4, as lots of us have had a wobble around that point. If you finished the run, even if it hurt. you still did it - next time will be better. If you couldnโ€™t finish it, write it off as a practice run and try again, as slowly as you like until your confidence builds up again and you feel like you can do it; I bet youโ€™ll find it much better this time. And listen to @jancanrun - her advice is brilliant.

W4,R2 was my worst run too. I wanted to give up and might have done if it wasnโ€™t for all the fab people here. Now i only have two more runs before i graduate. You can do it. Keep going.

But your out there doing a lot more than most. Donโ€™t worry. Everyone gets an off day. I had one Wednesday. But redid the โ€œfailedโ€ run today and smashed it. Gotta keep your head in the game write it off. Clean sheet for the next one. Stretch lots drink lots and good luck ๐Ÿ€

Loonyloo well done for finishing it!

I just did W4 R1 and had the same feeling, your not alone, but just think you did it! Despite how much it hurt and how much you sucked. You did it!! Woop woop!

Some are breeze, some are not. Although we try to gain but with very little or no pain, often the two are linked and there is no way around it. Thankfully, good runs are far more frequent and rewarding than the ugly ones.

Yesterday was very warm and l had to delay my run, couldn't do it before 1 o'clock with not a cloud above. I simply knew l would pay for it but had to do 10K. Preps were done (hydration, comfy gear, hat) but at 8K l was slowing down. I am the one who loves the warm and the sun but at the end of 10K l was spent.

Point is, we both finished it, liked it or not. The next one will be good! ;)

This has reassured me. I did W4 R1 yesterday, and it went ok, but now feel like I canโ€™t move. Knees, legs, back AARGHH. Gotta keep the faith...

You done run 3 yet? How did it go? I did run 2 yesterday, felt slightly easier but knees still sore this morning. Itโ€™s been a big step up (literally) from running for 9 to 16 minutes. My body does not like it!
