An epiphany during my second to last run: I've hurt my back 2 weeks ago so decided to go easy on Thursday night, repeated w2r3 and light jog. No pain, no struggle to breathe, enjoying the sights, the birds, the dogs. Waking up the next day feeling awesome.
Turn out I was just trying to run too fast! Main thing is to be out and do the programme but slowly does it!
Went for w3r1 yesterday, breathing naturally and really enjoying myself. Yes I'm slow but much faster than any couch potato!!
Happy running y'all πββοΈπββοΈ

It took me a while to realise it isnβt a race π and actually when Laura said about the hedge it sort of clicked π³π slow and steady me π π enjoy π
Me too, I'm no racehorse, (a quick look in a mirror tells me that), I'm a happy trotter and proud of it!
Hubby came for a run with me once. He insisted that I was doing it all wrong, it was like the race between the tortoise and the hare, yep I won while he stayed behind clinging onto a lamppost gasping for air.
I doubt that I will ever manage a 5k in 30 mins, no worry, it's not my goal.
Sorry for that. Juggling full time job as a research scientist in oncology, children 3 and 6, husband recovering from bowel cancer and trying to get fit. But it is true that I haven't replied much and I really appreciate all the lovely people who do. Will try harder.
Only caught this post now... Just wow! I'm in awe you're managing to juggle all of that and still fit 3 runs in. Had to comment just to say "You're awesome!"
Exactly the same thing happened to me. Finished w2r3 OK. Next morning I was fine, later in the day I pulled a muscle in my back. I took a week off and repeated w2r3 yesterday, very slowly (competition for snails and tortoises but not much else) - it was good,
