Run 1 Week 4....how can it ever get easier

Just don’t run 1 of week 4. I thought I was going to die doing the last five mins. Really struggled to breath but kept going and for the last 15 seconds put the speed up on the running machine. I would prefer to be on the road but too self conscious

Get yourself outside! I am old and unfit but have had nothing but encouraging smiles from people (although they could be laughing at me but what the hell this is for me!). Being outside will make it more interesting and distract from the discomfort.

I did run outside when I was about 3 stone lighter and I got comments then hence me more paranoid now

You may find you enjoy the outside more.. find a quiet spot and just try it..head out slowly and gently and if you are struggling... do not push through it.. slow down..it works... :)

Folk are far too wrapped up in their own lives to notice us:)

I did Week 4 Run 1 yesterday and was exactly the same, managed all the runs without issue and then the last 2 minutes of that final 5 minute run nearly ended me! Made it through it though and weirdly can’t wait to get out there again tomorrow!

That’s good to hear. My next run is Monday. Not looking forward to it like you though I generally choose a 😫 face at the beginning 😂

Me too, especially when it’s 7am 😂

Me too. I am sure people are laughing at my shuffle! I'm going on the theory that the more I run the less I will care 😁

Worst thing this morning was forgetting my earphones so I couldn’t listen to Laura my couch to 5k voice coach for encouragement 😂

I'm pretty much oblivious to what people might or might not think. But i always say Hello on the basis that attack is the best form of defence.

W4 is a bastard in its own way. But none of the weeks is easy except in retrospect. But none is hard to the point of failure unless you're ill or injured or just trying too hard.

The first time u hit a snag (irrespective of week) is a real moment of truth. It's just a bad day. That's all. You're not a bad person or a failure or incapable of going further. You had a bad day. We all get them. Have your rest day and then crack into it again. It's then a mental battle with yourself. Go slow and slap those gremlins down.

You'll amaze yourself xx

Firstly... well done on reaching this far. You're doing great.

Secondly.... some people in this world are just damn right rude, even when they can't do any better themselves. So keep your head up and be proud of yourself for doing something positive. Your confidence may very well grow over time and then other people's looks, stares or remarks will go straight over your head.

In this life we can't please everyone, so please yourself and keep on running.

Think of how far you've come already. You're doing great.x
