I only went and ran for 5 minutes... twice! Elated is an understatement. I am absolutely amazed at the way this plan can keep you going even when you think it must be impossible! (Well that and I blasted Bassment Jaxx on the last 5 minute run to stop the gremlins from shouting at me!)
I really didn’t want to go out this evening, but then I thought about everybody on here who have been out today and I wanted to join them!
Now that it’s starting to get darker in the evenings, I was wondering what to do in terms of attire? Do I need a high vis vest or something like that to put over my running clothes? Or a torch?

Great job. I wanted to run with all of you guys too, but I have to wait until tomorrow. 5 minutes can have a big tick next to it... next jump is smaller... you got this.
Certainly some reflective gear, either high vis or a running shirt that does the same. Headlight depends on where you’re running really.
I’ll have a look out for some reflective running tops and jackets! I run in a park where it can get quite dark, I’ll gauge it depending on how dark it is on my next few runs I guess!
Hope you have a great run tomorrow! The rest days can be more difficult than the runs themselves sometimes can’t they!
Ahh that sounds super scary, I’ll see how my head torch (appeared from nowhere when I moved house, I don’t even know how I acquired it!) fairs as it gets darker.
Oooh do you find that the yoga is helping with the runs? I keep meaning to give it a go!
Yes. My movement is easier, and my posture is improving. I only do one session a week... other days I got other apps kicking my butt hard, so I always like yoga day.
Well done. I have my 3rd run of Wk4 tomorrow, like you I didn't think I would manage 5 mins. Big pat on the back to us and everyone else on Wk4. I used to run. I have fluorescent tops and used to have flashing wrist straps. Aldi often has cheap stuff around this year for night running. I have a little baseball cap that has a light on tge front too. I do love night/winter running though
Ooh I’ll get myself down to Aldi and see if I can find anything! I’ve been told primark is quite good for running gear too, so it looks like I can justify this shopping trip 😃.
High five to us for the 5 minute runs and hope your final run of wk 4 goes well tomorrow! It really is amazing what we can do when we set our minds to it 😊
And to think just 4 weeks ago 60 seconds had us puffing. That 5 mins was such a great feeling and completed again today W4R2.
Just think how amazing 30 mins is going to feel! Still seems a bit unreal to me.
I've been thinking about getting a reflective vest. Looked at jackets but I get so hot running I don't really want to add another layer until it gets properly cold.
It does seem unreal that 30 minutes isn’t in the too distant future, but if we can go from 60 seconds to 5 minutes in 4 weeks we can conquer anything!
I wore a long sleeve top over a vest this evening and I was quite warm, but I tend to feel quite cold so I might get lots of little layers and see how I feel with each one x
Yep...early morning or evening... bright and flashy! Head torch too if you are in the dark depths...I have a flashing belt... and a head torch that flashes too Scares the life out of the wildlife I meet, early mornings
Thank you 😃 I love the post run feeling! It makes me feel on top of the world! Although now I’m aching, I think it’s finally time to try yoga tomorrow morning!
I did week 4 run 2 yesterday-on my birthday which goes to show how much I'm enjoying it now lol. Although the last 5 minute run has been difficult, I've actually found this week the most manageable so far. Usually I'm running out of breath & desperate for Laura to tell me time's up but this week I've just been enjoying my music lol
