W5R3 due today and full of man flu - well I say full of man flu, more of a terminal head cold!
Have read some running websites that talk about the “neck rule” Eg if you’re suffering above the neck you should be ok to run, and in fact the hormones released act as a kind of decongestant. Below the neck (chest, limb pain, fever etc) don’t run.
As much as I don’t feel like it, I kind of think I should do it, but with R3 being the milestone that it is.... maybe I shouldn’t.
Any one have experience of having terminal man flu (aka slight head cold!) and running?

Can't hurt to give it a crack, man-flu notwithstanding. Get out there and see how it goes. If you're not up for it, then you've put in a good training session. I'm doing this run tomorrow morning, so you can let me know what to expect
Yes tiger. What felt like a 24hr thing in W3. Got through the week. Did W4R1. But despite gallons of water i was still as snotty as a snotty thing. Resting heart rate up and was in the red zone for W4R1. I shd have listened to my body. Didnt. Tried W3R2 and it fell yo bits and knocked my confidence. Put another rest day in the schedule and W4 now done.
Moral of the story: avoid personal heroics to stay on schedule. It's okay to feel poorly. Give yourself enough time to feel better. The next run will still be there waiting..
