Anterior knee pain

I’ve just done my first run week 2 and can’t believe how much easier than the first run I did only a week ago. My only concern is one-sided anterior knee pain. I’ve had bother with this before and have been doing a lot of walking recently which has aggravated it. Also feel it on the stairs. Ran on grass today which was a bit easier. My grown up kids all run so I’ve been well advised about stretching. Any suggestions? Thanks in anticipation!!

Stretching is good... warming up well before runs and stretching afterwards.. try these too...

An occasional treadmill run helps, not sure if you’ve had a gait analysis as new trainers may help?

I got my running shoes at a proper shop a couple of years ago when I planned to run but had never worn them! I got them at a proper running shop and was properly assessed but maybe I need to do a proper assessment. Thanks for that
