I ran yesterday morning, and it's the evening, and as I won't be able to run till Wednesday I didn't want to let the momentum go, so out I went when I got back from work at about 7:15pm. What a truly lovely evening it was, my canal route was beautiful.
Not much to say apart from that really. Oh - the run. Right!! Yes. I did the speed podcast again, and what a difference. I seemed to fly along, and averaged 6:30 per km, and that's given the fast and slow intervals, so I'm pretty happy with that. I think I'll do speed once more, and then maybe have a crack at stamina. Bring it on!!
Yes indeed, having been on the IC towards the end of last year, I am aware of the risks, but I felt as it wasn't a particularly long run, and the terrain was flat, and more importantly, dry, it would be OK, which it was. I guess it's like all things in life, it's about calculating the risks. For example I now will not run on mud, for me it's not worth the risk
So - risk vs reward. That was just the confidence boost I needed tonight. Still grinning!
