So dog and I finished week 1 today and weโ€™re fair chuffed with ourselves! Iโ€™d invested in a proper pair of shoes so it was like running on air ... only 8 minutes of air but itโ€™s something I never thought Iโ€™d do ๐Ÿ˜ looking forward to week 2...

Well done for completing Week 1! And isn't it amazing what a difference good running shoes can make? Enjoy Week 2.

Thanks! Youโ€™re so right - incredible how good the right kit feels!๐Ÿ‘ definitely a convert now, so... maybe a proper running jacket at the end of week 2... then proper running leggings after week 3.....I might actually be fully turned out when I get to the end of this brilliant training plan...Bring on the Neon Pink!!!๐Ÿ˜†

Ooh do - youโ€™ll not regret them! Hope youโ€™re enjoying week 1 as much as I did๐Ÿ‘ hoping the enthusiasm remains as the weeks get harder, but so far so good! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Congratulations to you both. My dog and I ran all of C25K together. She was a bit shocked at first but loves it now and was delighted with her Kong teddy graduation present. Good luck and happy running. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Hi there, can I ask what shoes you bought as Iโ€™m just about to invest in some

2flatfeet profile image
2flatfeetGraduateโ€ข in reply toSuzieMac

Definitely! Iโ€™m mostly woodland running but with bit of pavement so I was advised to get hybrid shoes and I chose the Peregrine ISO series (no idea what the ISO means but theyโ€™re VERY purple!). I went to Run4It in Bridge of Allan and was thankfully given excellent advice and assistance. Not quite as expensive as Iโ€™d feared neither - my last pair of gym going shoes cost more!

If work out how to do it Iโ€™ll post a piccie! Definitely go to a shop for 1st purchase for the advice if nothing else! Iโ€™d to get half a size bigger than usual so there was sufficient room when running.

Well with it, made a huge difference to my feet post run.

Good luck and happy runnings ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Thanks so much for that. I aim to buy some this week after pay day!! ๐Ÿ‘

Box says โ€˜sauconyโ€™ but inside of shoe is peregrine so presume brand is saucony!

Enjoy your shoe shopping! It feels really good to be able to say โ€˜iโ€™ve started runningโ€™!๐Ÿ˜†(it feels even better when you go for a run in your new shoes!๐Ÿ˜Š

Enjoy! X

Great move to get proper running shoes. They are a great investment and before too long you will probably have the pleasure of needing to buy some new ones because these ones are worn out!

Congrats on completing your first week. The programme is really very progressive. All the best wishes and feel free to post any question. People on here are fantastically supportive.

Welcome! runner!

๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘way to go. Iโ€™m just re-doing week 1 with a proper pair of shoes & it helped. Second run tomorrow, with dog; although Iโ€™m not sure she classifies it as running - and sheโ€™s 10.5 years old ๐Ÿคฃ. Good luck with week 2 - you can do it.

๐Ÿ˜ good on you! Proper shoes are definitely the way to go though I doubt many of us could keep up with our dashing dogs when they really get going, proper shoes or not! Enjoy your runs with your lovely girl ๐Ÿ‘

She has her own game of dropping her ball & then running at least a third of the distance again to retrieve it when I dramatically shrug my shoulders & show her my empty hands! ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well done! I'm on week 9 and not taken my little canine pal yet... Yesterday finished my run and realised we still had to go for a walk as well, doh! So maybe will have to try it some time

2flatfeet profile image
2flatfeetGraduateโ€ข in reply toParky88

It does help if youโ€™re short on time! Added benefit is that dogโ€™s helped me to keep up my pace and is a lovely happy distraction when it gets tough (but Iโ€™ve only done wk1 so far ...) ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am on holiday...so doing week 2 in the gym. Also hurt my back...have a disc issue...so just brisk walking...can't risk running. Have put the treadmill to incline but not sure how to work it properly
