Bad week 😩

Well I have not been able to run due to all sorts of reasons. Lost my interest in everything- work, family , life and can’t seem to get it back . I need to snap out if it - should I go back to week one and try again ? Help!! 😢

Oh bless you - that’s not good. Sounds like depression & unfortunately snapping out of it is difficult when you feel like that. How long is it since you ran? If it’s not that long ago then you should be good to carry on from where you were. I’m no expert & i’m sure the more experienced on here can give better advice on that one. Try & remember how good you felt after you had done previous runs. Have you got good music you can listen to? I find that really motivates me. Don’t be too hard on yourself- think what you would say to a friend who was feeling like that & then say those things to yourself. Good luck & keep us posted.

Thank you - just really tough at the moment only been a week I may just go back to week 4 and do that again that was my last one . I do feel great when I finished and proud of myself but all i keep hearing is - you always start stuff jo you never finish it - you failure 😩😢. You have a good week and thanks for the support x

Don't be so hard on yourself. It's ok to feel crappy sometimes, just try to think about how well you've done so far. You're not heading in the wrong direction you've just strayed from the path a little and you can get back on it. I'm like that with diets! Why don't you try the last run you did again and take it from there? Get organised before you go with music etc and take your time. If you don't complete it, it's not the end of the world just think you're still getting exercise and it will help you next time you try. Exercise is supposed to make you feel emotionally better too so it can only do you good to give it another go. Good luck x

Sorry you’re feeling that way, but if you can make yourself get out there i would just carry on from where you left off. Maybe repeat the last run you did? Doing it is going to make you feel better i promise! I had a melt down in W4 - I really thought i couldn’t go on. If i can get through it with the help of this forum, you will too. Best of luck...

Hi, if it's only been a week since your last run then you'll be ok to start where you finished off.

Just try to remember why you wanted to start running in the first place and be gentle with yourself if you don't succeed (and in all seriousness if you have experienced low mood for 2 weeks or more you should see your gp) good luck :)

Hi Jo , hey be your own best critic, but also be your own best friend. Be nice to yourself and be proud of how far you’ve come! When you do your next run we will all be with you 😊

We all have weeks like that. It’s hard to pick yourself up and get out there. But you are strong Yvan do it! Put those trainers on and get some me time! You will feel so much better

Hi, I would start the week your ment to start on. You can do this 😊

I also suffer or more like suffered bad with depression (still get the odd bad few days/week even) but doing this programme has helped me mentally & physically tremendously 😌

There's been days at the beginning where I would just say "oh bugger it" not bother BUT pushed myself very hard to get out there and done it ✅ then the "runners high" kicked in and I felt on top of the world then kept reminding myself why I need to get out and run 🏃 and how I felt after, this then kept me going.

Good luck and just remember you can do this 👍

But do see your doctor if you haven't already as sometimes medication can be prescribed to help you cope a bit better

Is that you telling yourself that or is someone else? We all have those gremlins - honestly I'm sure others on here will tell you the same. As I said - I try to think about what I would say to a friend and then say those things to myself. It isn't easy I know. It's taken me to the age of 53 to get this far. I have acupuncture for my depression and that has really helped but it's not for everyone. Good luck & please keep us posted.

What week were you on? If it’s not been weeks & weeks I would try to get back in to it. I had some circs why I couldn’t run & then got stuck in the week 3 loop until I posted about it & got encouraged to go for it

Sending lots of virtual (((hugs))) and positive vibes. Everyone is different but I find that after a day of negativity and stress, that forcing myself to get out and do it is the last thing on my agenda. But, once I get going - its works wonders for my mood and gives me 30 minutes or so of me-time. The ever encouraging Sarah M and a playlist of 90's synth tracks gets me through.... and its always such a positive feeling at the end

You can do this and get back on track. Fighting those inner demons is hard but when you force yourself out and do a run, remember the high you get. That post run feeling is my motivation. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon 👍🏽
