Running for fun

3rd post grad tun yesterday. It was a beautiful day and I just ran until I felt like stopping (approx 32 minutes). I have no idea how far I went. I’ve been hung up about having a plan to keep me on track and this is the first time I have just enjoyed running outside with no target or goal and I feel I’ve turned a corner mentally. For the first time I believe I’ll keep running because I want to rather than because I should and it’s a happy feeling!

thats fantastic! i might give this method a try on my first post grad run tomorrow - no apps just free run.

Not sure how i will manage without someone in my ear telling me how many minutes are left lol but i will go for it.

Enjoy the happy feeling :-)

That's a great attitude.

Well done for completing C25k. Now just keep getting out there.

Good luck and happy running!

What a fatastic attitude! I love walking and can wander about for hours/miles. I love the idea that one day I might enjoy running in the same way. Definitely going to try it once I graduate x

Hi just wondering if you stop running because your legs hurt or your out of breath? Do your legs even burn after 9 weeks?

in reply todayhayward

Neither really, I could have kept going longer but my legs were getting a bit tired and according to my watch I’d run for about 32 minutes and I thought that was about enough. Breathing is fine now (used to be a problem) so guess I just need to build on stamina now and distance and pace will come with practice. At least I am positively enjoying it now rather than it being something to get through!
