I’m in the post grad zone now! 😁 And I decided that today would be a no pressure, no requirements, no MJ (love you coach 😘) run at Lydiard Park after dropping my son off at school. I love being at home to be able to do those little things when his day doesn’t exactly go to plan. Mum to the rescue! Where’s my cape?!! I’ve got this! Not to mention the treat for me after I’ve dropped him off! 😉😇 I decide I’m getting a cappuccino on the way! Nice! Hey, this is about making running a natural part of my life now.
I downloaded the Nike+ App and Runkeeper. After looking through a bit, I decided to go for Nike+ today! I’ll use this until consolidation is complete. There are so many different running plans/guides, I like the variety that it offers.
Anyway, back to the run! It was as always amazing, but the difference (you know I like difference! 😂) was that there was absolutely no thoughts of whether I could do it. No pressure whatsoever. No, is taking this turn going to make it hard, no markers of time, no listening out for what the coach said to do next. I saw so many ladies out on their runs today too! All shapes and sizes! Power to us! It was spectacular! And the best bit, I suddenly thought I can see myself going for a 10k one day. All I have to do is keep showing up! I can do that! 3.69k, no speeding, no requirements, thinking sloooow! Very happy with that! 😁😁
Happy running Runners! Wherever you are on the programme, keep going! It’s worth it and so are you! 😁❤️

Ooooo, I so want to join you on a virtual 10k one day! Your enthusiasm is contagious and it sounds like you’re having as much fun as me (although I’m only doing W6R2 tomorrow!) I’m not sure there are enough emojis to cope when I finally graduate!! 😅
What a lovely account of your run. How did it feel without MJ - I’ll miss him I know. 😢
Keep posting won’t you? And enjoy basking in your graduate glory! 🏃♀️😀❤️👍🏻🎉
Oooooo cheekychipmunks please don’t say only! It only seems like yesterday since I was on that same run! You’re doing brilliantly! 👍🏽 Every single run is still a celebration and long may it stay that way! It’s not about time or distance, but the reality that I have lifted a self imposed limitation! Embracing fear as a friend! I’m learning to redefine fear as excitement! 😁😁❤️
Oh no MJ?? Well, MJ does kind of prepare you for his departure and he lets you know you that you can do it! I will always be grateful, but I thought I’d just let him go, as he’s got me to the place where he’s confident that I can carry on too. Besides, he’s a very busy man!! 😁😁❤️
Wow Fab - you are a true runner now! Can I ask a question about MJ in week 9 - were the three runs the same? Jo was basically saying the sort of things like 'you'll have to run this three times this week' and at the end basically signed off with a 'well done' even though it was only run 1 so I'm certain it'll be repeated for runs 2 and 3. Did MJ give you three different talks?
As Telford_Mike says! But in some ways it helps you to start thinking a little about a plan for post grad! I have learned not to expect too much excitement from MJ! 🤣 So it was just a fond farewell really. I’m very grateful all the same. ❤️
Where is that graduation badge? I don’t think I’d see it if it smacked me in the face!!!! Great positivity for PG run btw! Your time similar to mine. I’m using strava but may take a peep at Nike app 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏾♀️
Thanks Blonde!! I really enjoyed just a run without any goals as such. Just doing it! I can understand your days rest after a full 5k. I have only run to time and now I know I’ve got a bit to go to get to 5k, but I don’t mind at all! It was so nice today! Enjoy your post grad run! 😁😁❤️
Ooh they will be polishing and have it up very soon I’m sure! I didn’t get mine until the day after. Was lovely seeing it and I’ll love seeing yours too graduate! 😁😁❤️
Thanks Berksrover! It is pure happiness! I am having a fantastic time getting to do things just for me. It’s a real honour if I can inspire others too. ❤️
Well done Fabulous! Sounds like a great run. Enjoy these consolidation weeks, you will definitely notice how quickly you continue to build up stamina. It’s a great feeling 👍😊
Thank you owmeknees! I definitely want to just enjoy the next few weeks! And keep turning up until the habit just comes naturally! Today was brilliant! ❤️
Hey Fabulous lady, how lovely to just run free with no agenda for your first PG run 😊 Sounds like you had a great experience out there 😊 This morning I downloaded the Nike+ app having never tried it before ~ so it's great to know there's a Headspace guided run on there! That's me sorted for tomorrow I think, thank you for sharing xx
Great to hear that Fabulous! I'm taking this week off and then back into it for consolidation and onwards to 10k and hopefully the Great South in October!
Understandable. I was thinking of having a break, but I’m still doing a bit of travelling for work, so I’m just carrying on to make sure that I keep up the momentum of run whenever, wherever and carry on forming the habit! 😉❤️
