Week 7

Well I’ve been a victim of the sites glitch and not been able to post all week. I’d write my post and then get an error message so .. shortened version.

Run 1 I did with my daughter. I drove down to the Tarka Trail and we parked up and went for our run. I’d been looking forward to this one and was proudly wearing my new Fitbelt , carrying my essentials, several tissues and car key. Unfortunately although I’d had two weeks before I left home all through this run I felt like I needed another. Just that nagging feeling ALL the way!! And the belt was pressing on my bladder too. I couldn’t relax into the run and grumbled at one point that I was just going to hop off the trail and go in the bushes And It was toooo hot. But my daughter gently nagged and chivvied me along and we completed it. Big sense of achievement (and relief) wen we got home

Run 2 was worse !! I like to run in the morning, my daughter had other arrangements so we ran in the evening, I’d built it up in my head all day and grumbled the whole way again ( bet she hates running with me really) but as it turned out she’d been edging me slightly faster and I got a 2 mile personal best and longest run too. So that was worth the struggle.

Run 3 my tormenter has gone back home so I was off in my own. I belong to an online gym club and we had had a live podcast on Tuesday with Rachel our coach and did some core strengthening stuff, around the Psoas, and consequently I was a bit achey and already making excuses in my head but I put my podcast on and off I went. Took a slightly different route- one of our old ones that had become too short- and ran that first then into the park to finish up. Absolutely LOVED it.

I remember that route from when I struggled to do 90 sec runs and 3, 5, 8 minutes and I just sailed past those milestones no bother. Breathing stayed even, legs didn’t feel heavy and it actually caught me out when I got to the end of my run. No hobo to lap me in the park this time either.

Wasn’t as fast as run 2 but the same as run 1 and much easier. And much more enjoyable - in the zone with the music and how pretty the park was in the early morning sunshine.

Looking forward to week 8 now😁😁😁

Bring it on!!!

Well done. It sounds like you have really got this! These last few weeks are the best as you know it’s only a couple more mins each week and you can just get into your stride. 👍🏻
