18st, stopped drinking, never run, eating healthy and my first run tonight...... I’m in the right frame of mind but hope this first run doesn’t put me off. Iv tried and failed too many times before. Never really looked forward to exercise but I’m actually pretty excited to see how far I can go mentally

Just remember to take it slowly! That’s the key. When you think your going slow, try going slower haha. That advice helped me and I start run 4 next

Do I actually run or jog????? Or anything I’m comfortable with

I jog slightly faster than my walking speed :)

Just a light jog. It’s not a race it’s to build up your stamina. Hark at me like I know what I’m talking about haha but this is all good advice I was given and it helped me.

Just go slowly. I’m on wk 6 and still very slow but it’s not a race!!😂

You should be very proud of yourself for trying to improve your health. Wishing you lots of luck - you won’t need it!

Hi, I’m nearly 17 stone and like too many pints. Stopped smoking a good few years ago but was resigned to the fact that smoking had taken my wind never to get it back. A minute seemed like an eternity at first but I’m now in W4 and running 5mins at a stretch.

Just go slow and keep going. It really works! Good luck

Go very slowly ( you may not have a choice 😐)

When you get home, applaud yourself, tuck it under your belt and move onto the next one, after your rest day!!!

Trust the programme and enjoy it 🤩😊

Good luck, you will love it, once you do the 1st run you will be looking forward to the next runs, its very addictive. I am on wk 3 r2 Xx

Go for it, you may surprise yourself! 🤗

Go for it. I've surprised myself every week so far. The only way you fail is by never trying in the first place. You'll be fine - to repeat the C25K mantra - slow & steady. You will find your own running pace. You can do this. Good luck & let us know how you get on.

PS- well done for stopping drinking - not sure I could manage that. I do enjoy a glass of wine or two.......😉

It really is addictive once u get that first run done! I'm normally a bit of a quitter so doubted myself before I even began but I'm now at week 5 but postponed due to injury , and I feel devastated that iv been having to miss my runs 😭 lol U can do this!!! Good luck and enjoy!!

Yay!!! 👏👏. Well done!! I knew you could do it. Bugger about the shin splints though. Don’t run tomorrow, rest days are most important. Walking is good though, if the shins are ok.

Well done! 👍

Excellent! It does become addictive. But you’ve done the hardest bit and actually started. My 1st run of w4 is on Saturday too, which I’m kinda worried about, we can encourage each other! 😂. Again, well done & feel proud 👍
