New and nervous

So I’m about to go on the first run. I’m quite over weight and really nervous about this. I’ve decided that I’m changing my life and proving to myself that I can do something like this. I don’t want to tell the people around me I’m trying Incase it doesn’t work out but don’t want to do it alone either! So here I am 🤷‍♀️😅

Even the longest journey starts with a single step etc etc

We’ve all been there - you can do this.

Good luck.

Well done on starting this programme. Like you I want to be as fit & healthy as I can be. This is great as you build up gradually & you can always repeat a run if you need to. There’s lots of friendly support on here so you’ve done the right thing in joining up. Good luck & let us know how you get on. 🙂

Seh828 You can totally do this! This program really works! Just do exactly as it tells you.....take it easy! Keep to the program and you will surprise yourself ! believe me I’m well overweight and this morning I did my first 8 min runs for over 30 years!! Only because I do exactly as MJ tells me 😃

Keep in touch !! Let us know how you get on 👍🏻

Well done for making this great decision. Have you read the guide to the programme; well worth a look.

On this forum you will find tall, short, old, young, big and small. What binds us is C25k and a our shared desire to run.

So welcome. Hope the run goes, or went, well. You’ve got this 🏃🏾‍♀️😊👍

You will do it. Slowly and surely. Don’t think too far ahead.

I was like you, nervous about running, didn’t tell anyone till after week 5 and then only family. Just ran 5 k non stop this morning. Pace is painfully slow but I DiD IT. Still overweight but toning up a bit.

Keep going and tell us all about it.

Hi, I know how you feel. I have just finished wk2r3. The hardest run was the first one.

My 5 yr old said just keep trying Mum and do your jogs and you will get fit and healthy ... she is my motivation to keep going.

Hope you get on ok on your first run. I started last week and was also very nervous. I tried not to think about it too much and got through it, felt proud after I'd done it. You can do it!

Welcome. I'm 57 and fat and this morning I ran for 45 minutes. The programme is amazing. I found Jo Whilst the most inspirational person to listen to along the way.

Well done for starting! You can do it.

Once I'd got into a routine I started wearing my leggings and trainers to school drop off rather than changing at home afterwards. Others noticed, asked me and I got so much encouragement it spurred me on greatly.

I started in Feb and graduated 2 days ago. Some weeks I repeated, some weeks I had to miss runs.

If I did it and with everyone else on here cheering you on, you can too!

You can do this! Slow and steady, it's not a race. Run as slow as you need to! Slow is good ! 🐌🐌🐌

If you go down to the woods today you’ll probably bump into a ninja runner doing C25k 👀. I hid for the duration of the programme and beyond Nothing wrong with that at all 🙂

Just go very slowly and you’ll be ok It's the slowness that buys time and puff that gets you round each week

Have fun too. You are doing a great Thing!
