If we could see into our running future............

Just wanted to share one of my posts from 3 years ago when I was on Wk 4 of C25k.....

I started week 4 today and I'm beginning to understand the mental strength needed for this challenge. I found the 5 mins really hard & had to give myself a good talking to a couple of times. I said " I can do this. I know I can because Laura says I can"

And Laura was right - again!

This programme is very clever because only last week a 3 min run was very hard compared to the 90s one. This week I relished the 3 min sections because they were so much easier than the 5 min ones. Hopefully it won't be long before I'm enjoying 5 min sections too.

Thankyou to everyone who posts here as without you I don't think I'd have made it this far.

.........and tell you that 3 days ago I ran my 1st Half Marathon! I was running for a lot more than 5 mins (in mid 20s heat too) and I loved it!

Hello there, i’m still here too ☺️ I think you must have started about the same time as me

Well done on your HM 💪👍😃🏅. It’s great isn’t it where C25k has led us. We wouldn’t have believed it possible would we. Running and racing! Racing was never on our radars was it 😃

Good luck for your future adventures. A marathon has to be on the cards now 😎

I hardly ever post now but it is lovely how many of us are still around.

As regards a Marathon:

One thing I’ve learnt MissWobble is “never say never!”.

Precisely

Hey! My first marathon was in Lincs! A tiny event on the coast. I loved it so much I am doing it again. It’s in November You could join me 💪👍😃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

With this suggestion I'm still at this stage at the moment:

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Definitely planning to do The Hedghog Half in October though and then North Lincs Half again next year. Might be my new favourite distance.

The marathon ate away at me I just had to nail it. You do it slowly. Once you know that, it takes the pressure off I Jeffed it as I hurt my hip three weeks before. Maybe this year I can give it some welly There was a field of 28 runners there 😃

It was brilliant. So friendly! Just the thing for the first timer, although it’s a chosen event for the 100 marathon club members It’s a two-day event and some runners did a marathon on the Saturday and the Sunday. Eek 😬

As folks came alongside they were chatty, helpful and supportive. There was a food and drinks table which you dibbed into as required and we had a celebration cake afterwards with a lady who had completed her 100th marathon. She was awesome but so friendly and helpful

It was very cold at the start, and got a bit colder afterwards, but by the finish I was in my vest 😁. Pub nearby, to which the runners decamped for Sunday dinners. I went off to my neice’s for a hot bath and my 60th birthday party 🎉 🎈 🎊 🍰

Great goodie bag as well with quality eats and drinks. The medal was awesome 🏅

Great post. I graduated in 2015. Now, over 120 Parkruns behind me, 2 ten mile races, six 10k's, a 20 mile race, a half marathon and I recently ran (slowly) Manchester Marathon. The support from my running club has been fantastic.

So thanks C25k!

All this running has bloody interfered with my golf though!
