Oh dear π. Well that run didnβt go as expected. Thought cos I could do 20 mins, this will be easy! Ahh, no. A bit gutted but trying to be objective. 1. Iβve been a bit slack with 3 runs a week. Up until a couple of weeks ago i was pretty good but life and other things have distracted me. 2. Took a different route today with lots of fast runners going past me. Tried to stay slow but it was hard. 3. A couple of times I was running into the wind - now that ainβt easy! 4. I think I was getting a bit cocky. Do not overestimate ones running ability π. This is a 9 (ish) week plan after all.
Still, I did the first 5 min run, then 4 mins of the 8 plus the last 60 seconds of the 8 mins, then the last 5 so not a complete fail but how I can do well at 20 and naff at 8? Thatβs a puzzle π€·ββοΈ

Don't know why , nearly everyone comments on that run after being able to run 20 minutes non stop the previous week . Don't worry have a rest day and try again . Put it down to a practice run . Good luck π
I struggled with it too even though Iβd picked it out as a tough run before I started the plan! Donβt worry about it, youβre far from alone. Keep that pace down when you go again, the intervals look easier than the 20 minutes but they add up real quickly... and because we perceive it as easy, thereβs a tendency to set off a little faster than we should.
Yes and I think there being more people around me as well as fast runners, I just could find my groove. Will go to my usual haunt for Wednesdays run π€π
I think I suffered from no 4 too... at least youβve not injured yourself as I did. Next time you will be forewarned and forearmed: next time you will complete it! ππ»ππΌββοΈ
Although up to W5 was Ok I still had doubts I could finish the course. Once through W6 I was highly confident I could complete the course and I did π
